just give it a few days and if you swithc back it will look weird and very icy cold late evening blue with your old settings; the same also goes for how insanely bright many set SDR, dial it way down on brightness and soon it'll seem normal |

Also, you can still order it with the following info on the product page "Pre-order This product will be shipped to you for delivery on 10/20/2020" They really need to change that if they are back ordered |

to the left, look at the blown out whites on the chrome details and the lines on the notepad, much more easy to see in the 4K. Last edited by rickardl; 10-15-2020 at 09:15 AM. |

So the comments from the experts based on the screenshots are more or.less in line with my observations.
Filmic. Colour grading much better than seen before. That mild yellow push is due to very warm colour grading. Super fine grain on parts 2 and 3. There might have been some DNR but its done well aka grain managed Now please give some credits to Universal. |

Ok, so I’ve skimmed through Part II. And shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, I don’t care what you picky people on here are saying - it looks FANTASTIC! So you say this has been scrubbed, but I have no reference so I can’t tell (like it was the DCP rip for Part I) if it has been scrubbed or it was film stock they filmed it on. And maybe it’s my blessing that The only thing I care about is if it looks filmic to my eyes. And you know what - it does! It has just enough grain to do just that! Of course the optical effects scenes are more problematic - but it’s the curse of 4K as we know it. Marty now has more justification than ever before to say “the shark looks fake”. But to me it’s all part of the game. As a stand alone point - because of different film stock the film looks so much sharper than Part I as well! So I’m pretty happy with the Part II. For Part I we at least had the DCP rip to go bu, but this here is a totally new game after the horrendous Blu rays. Give credit, where credit due!

Got my Nordic set yesterday. Same great packaging as the Nordic set of Hitchcock btw. Watched the first movie last night, and thought it looked very good. I might be biased, since the original movie is on my personal top 5 of all time. The details are amazing, and the grain is fine, much like The Blues Brothers on UHD. Like the UHD of The Blues Brothers, the sound on the original BTTF is outstanding. It's extremely directional and powerfull, right from the beginning, and I don't remember the surrounds being engaged like this, on any other version of the movie, I've seen and owned. Very impressed by this. Quick note about the picture. Some months ago Netflix had BTTF on their service, and I watched it and was surprised by the amount of grain it had. It looked different to the movie on the old BD, which is to say, the Netflix version looked better. I sampled some scenes from my old BD at the time, and came to the conclusion that not only did the Netflix version have more grain, but it was also more detailed. I thought, that that transfer was new and would surely be the basis of the new 4K transfer we have today. It might be, but the UHD doesn't look like that fine Netflix version. The grain is reduced, but it's there, on the UHD and the details are way beyond what the Netflix version could muster, that's for sure. I sampled some scenes from the included BD last night, and I could be wrong, but I thought it looked better than the old BD. The new BD has a new copyright (2020) on the disc, but again, I just quickly sampled some scenes, it was late and I was tired. |
