I have a feeling I won’t be getting it at the $10 price. My Gruv order still says Queueing.

Same. Its better than canceled tho. I'm going to assume we're stuck in back order purgatory. As much as I'd like it release day, if I have to wait to get is for $10 I cant complain (though and email about my order being delayed would have been nice).

You can always buy the digibook at target or Walmart and return the 9.99 one when it finally comes in. I don't think there's a time frame especially during the holiday season

I got the "back ordered" email too but for $10, I can wait. Not like I haven't seen these a hundred times...

I agree, but if you want to see how bad it can get, check out the Friday the 13th thread over the last week. Several bullies over there.

Since when has the audio format for commentary tracks been listed among the main specs?

When Universal advertise Atmos and 2.0., I expect Atmos and 2.0 for the film.

I can't be alone in that, surely?

In the original announcement it says:

Quote:
DOLBY ATMOS TRACK, plus Dolby Digital 2.0, French European DTS Digital Surround 5.1, Latin American Spanish DTS Digital Surround 5.1 Digital Surround 5.1
It seems to indicate that the 2.0 track was intended to be included. Unless someone on the Universal marketing team thought the commentary tracks was going to audio for the movies and not the commentaries.

Amazon just sent me an e-mail telling me my copy will arrive on the 22nd. Looks like I'll be having a Zemeckis marathon with the trilogy and The Witches debuting on HBO Max the same day.

Come on Best Buy. I am kind of counting on you to ship the Steelbooks since you hold them exclusively. I had to cancel a delayed shipping order and a preorder cause I don't trust you to do it.

Ship these BTTF Steels without Delay and damage!

I can wait as long as I’m getting it for $10. But it would be nice to just get an email. If I can’t get it for $10 then I’m not getting it at all and I’ll Wait when they release the set in standard cases. I would like to know why the USA always gets the crappy sleeve packaging.

He's asking if the bluray images are from the 25th anniversary edition or the 35th anniversary one.

What does the grain look like, is it reasonably sharp? Does it have both high and low-frequency components? Is there a color component to it or completely monochromatic (yellowish dye blobs were mentioned previously.) Does there appear to be smudged or smeared image detail and textures underneath the grain? How does the grain move?

For example every frame of a piece of film is a different physical object unrelated to the others and so every frame should have a completely different grain field. With time you learn what this grain that changes 24 times every second looks like, and so can easily pick up on it if the grain instead appears to change slightly in slow-motion or if it moves slightly with or trails after the movement in the image, a tell-tale sign of noise-reduction since it largely works by analyzing and reducing temporal changes.

With regards to BTTF it seems to be a mix as is so often the case, but relatively inoffensive overall. Shots like this appear more or less untouched, this optical is clearly heavily denoised (but it's an optical so, ehhh) and I'm somewhat suspicious of examples like this because the grain looks just a tad soft and lacking contrast, and I sense some possible diagonal smearing on her left cheek, eye and temple. Of course impressions can change a lot once you see things in motion.
Thanks, that was educational. I understand where you’re coming from, but I don’t see half of what you see there But doesn’t it ruin an enjoyment of watching the movie if you know precisely where it has been manipulated. As my dad used to say - knowledge is one mean m.....f.....er!
