Lol how can anyone claim the scene was not reshot with MLF when he is in the scene and has dialogue. Perhaps the poster meant that one shot was not reshot but the scene was obviously reshot.

Marty McFly is in every shot anyone is talking about. I knew that as an 8 year old and I still know that as a 38 year old. 30 years of inside baseball "knowledge" just for knowledge sake doesn't change how a movie plays, for me.

Excuse me if this has been answered, but I’m finally watching my Best Buy discs for the first time and part 2 disc is skipping/blurring.

Is this a regular occurrence with everyone else?

Can anything be done to exchange discs?

Thanks

I have a rather odd and specific question.

Does anyone have the Best Buy Steelbook version of these films and a Dolby Vision setup? I have an LG CX 55" with a UBP-X800M2 and I only get HDR and no Dolby Vision. Can anyone confirm that this title has Dolby Vision on the disc. The disc info lists DV, the back of the box lists DV, but it looks like the actual discs have HDR10+ only.

If I look at the ripped video file, I can see the HDR stream and the HDR10+ enhancement layer, but I don't see the Dolby Vision enhancement layer. I know the streaming versions have Dolby Vision.

Here's the Mediainfo output from the video file for the first film:

I've heard from others that have had this problem and cleaning the discs helped. During the manufacturing process you can get a manufacturing oil on the discs and cause read problems. I will use mild dish soap to clean it and then dry it gently with a microfiber cloth. I've seen others recommend IPA with a soft rag.

On the X800M2 you have to manually enable Dolby Vision playback on Dolby Vision discs, it doesn't support automatic detection. You need to go into "Screen Settings" then into "Dolby Vision Output" and turn it on.

That's interesting about that shot, but the first 2 pieces of evidence presented in that video are not convincing at all. It should have led with Wilson's testimony which is pretty conclusive and then pointed out where you can see Stoltz.

I where is starts with Eric Stoltz and then when he goes back to 1985 morphs to Michael J Fox and it happens all over again

Given that they were almost done, I wonder what the movie would have been like if they had just stayed with that. Maybe it would have been even more popular. Or would it have even been a hit at all? Probably would have become a cult classic if nothing else. Who knows?

You're going dangerously close to disrupting the space time continuum by suggesting there is any reality where Stoltz as MM would have resulted in more popular reception of BTTF. Sounds insane. Every creative input and Steven Spielberg was in agreement on the miscasting. Cast members agreed with it then. And in subsequent home video and print interviews. I can't prove you wrong, but the idea reads like one of those "said no one ever" memes; until this thread...

Well I think flop is probably more likely than a bigger hit but there's just no way to know. But it would be interesting if it was still huge despite a (possible) miscasting of the lead.

I'll accept Stoltz in BTTF if we can have Michael J. Fox as Lance in Pulp Fiction

I’m trying to picture Michael J. Fox saying “You brought her here, and that means that you’re gonna give her the shot. The day I bring an ODing b*tch to your house then I give her the shot.”

Thanks in advance!
This trilogy uses Full Enhancement Layer (FEL) which will mean two video streams, Video #2 should be it. MediaInfo had issues reading DV info until recently, try upgrading to the current version or use BDInfo.

As mentioned, turn on DV on your player settings.
