Best Buy would refund the price difference for "their own release" in this case.
Oh, I gotcha.

Is that the digipack with separate trays for each disc? Or do we not know yet? No info on that page. I didn't know Amazon Australia ships to the US but it seems it does.
Was asking about differences above.
It looks to me like a fat clamshell that'd hold 7 discs. But we don't know for sure.
(unless someone does know. I'd love to hear/see more)

I'd pre-order that in a second if I knew for a fact it was a standard clamshell, or digipack, and it would include all the same discs. I don't love digi-packs, but at least if it was a digipack, it would have proper disc storage.

The image, to me, is a clamshell, so that's what I expect it is, and the listing says 7 discs.
I more wonder if there's an insert/booklet that has the disc contents info like the pages of the US book, then it'd be my preferred version too.
The Blu-ray discs may be Region B however.

I'm region-B capable anyways, so I guess that wouldn't bother me. Plus I wonder if it would work with the Panasonic player trick? That's hit or miss. I have a lot of region B discs so I guess I wouldn't mind, though I prefer region A or region-free.

Region B is fine by me too.
It could be Region Free. I'm not up on which studios usually are or aren't like some people, or what past editions of BttF were.
EDIT: It looks like past US and UK blu-rays of the movies were Region Free, so it seems likely they will be again.

As it's Amazon, you can order now for price guarantee and cancel at any point when more info comes out if it's not quite right.

One thing though - would some of the extras on the blu-ray or UHD discs be PAL/25fps with speedup? I'm not sure how a mixed disc from a PAL region would work. I know the main film would be 23.976 but what about the extras? Back on DVD they would all be PAL which was always very annoying. I can play PAL now with my region B player but I wouldn't like it if all the extras were 25/50fps with a sped up pitch.

"Sorry, this item can't be delivered to your selected address."

Okay, so much for ordering from Amazon.com.au. And Amazon.it is out. That leaves the UK maybe, but it will be more expensive especially with the shipping. Ridiculous. I should just be able to order from anywhere in the US but no, they had to ruin the packaging.

I would expect the discs to be identical to those in the US. But as Europe, also Region B when not Free, will have different language options in different regions, I could be wrong.

So does anyone who knows about PAL v. NTSC and framerates know?
Is it an issue when features are ported over from DVD?

Okay, so much for ordering from Amazon.com.au.
And Amazon is fickle. They seem to change from day to day when they will ship internationally and when they won't.

There are other Australian retailers that might. jbhifi.com.au is one.
sanity.com.au is another.
Probably not price parity with Amazon though.

Well, duh. It's Universal. All the extras will be in NTSC.
Also, because it's Universal, the region will be 0.

The discs will be 100% region free and all the content will be either 1080p/24 or 480p, there will be no PAL content.

PAL SD content is only ever an issue when it’s a release from a local studio, big releases like this will be authored to work worldwide with only minor or no differences to the US release.

I just placed my first order with Sanity last week and the order just arrived in the US yesterday, so their shipping seems to be excellent. I don't know how they handle pre-orders though - I'll have to check their site to see what their policies are on pre-orders. I'll wait a bit longer to see what's announced for the UK.

It won't happen but I echo the sentiment it's really one of the rare examples of slight deviation from Theatrical cuts purism making a FAR better feeling/experience for its inclusion.
I didn't even know the original film didn't have the "To be Continued..." tag at the end until I bought the DVD set and found it was missing.

It's about as significant an alteration as the original Star Wars adding "Episode IV: A New Hope" to the intro. If the rest of the film remained the same, I'd be fine either way.

It’s all but certain the UK release will be a digipack and will be out October 19th, if I had to guess a price I would say £39.99-£44.99 for the regular set with the Hoverboard Edition being exclusive to Amazon at £59.99 and the steelbooks being exclusive to Zavvi at £79.99

I remember my friend in school telling me they rented the movie and it said "To Be Continued" at the end, and I wouldn't believe him, as we saw it in theatres.
That being there was a big deal. I think there could be a short feature discussing it, or part of a feature about marketing the films and sequels.

But I still want to see it at the end of the movie when I watch.
(minor nag in my mind. not complaining or demanding anything)

Well, mine was upscaled to HD from the original.

And yes, it did exist in SD letterbox: both on Laserdisc and in the bonus materials of the BTTF DVDs/BluRays (I think, it was "Making of Back to the Future, Part II").
