Opening scene always makes me confused.

Doc basically lives in that garage and clearly has a close-established friendship w/ Marty.

Where the hell was he building the Delorean and how'd he keep this gigantic project a secret from him? Seems like something he'd be working on/off for 30 years would be kept in short sight.

I think some people will never understand the concept of fictional story telling.

Next, you will be complaining "I keep seeing people eat things, but we almost never see people go to the bathroom".

Or "Not for nothing, they were hibernating during the entire space flight, but everyone reading this knows that people got'a pee in the middle of the night. Shouldn't they have tubes running to their genitalia?"

Or, "You know, if they just would have called the police from the get go, that crazy guy wouldn't have got so far and terrorized the family so much. So, you know, the film would have been over in something like 15 minutes and we could have all just gone home early with extra popcorn."

Or, "Why don't we ever see Darth Vader push those buttons on the front of his suit?"

I'm so used to seeing chunks of the sequels on ITV, it's kinda jarring rewatching the opening of the original film. Compared to the hamminess of the other two (especially the second one), it's practically documentary-like.

I wonder what the UK will get. Looks like we're getting a re-issue of the old discs for the BD trilogy (it's only £15), whilst they're listing the US BDs as remastered.

Will be disappointing for some if the BDs are remastered in the UHD set only. Blu-ray only folks have gone long enough with those dated masters.

He only lives in the garage because his house burned down. I believe Bob Gale also alluded to the fact Doc purposely burned his house down to collect the insurance money to help fund his project. My guess is there’s another location where he was actually assembling the time machine.

Imagine watching the original for the first time years after you saw the other two. I was kind of flabbergasted by the portrayal of their home life and especially the Libyan terrorist stuff.

So, Doc is a criminal!? Maybe the trilogy should've ended with him behind bars.

Marty: Thanks for the ride. See ya in 5-10, Doc.

Doc: Great Scott!!

I've grown to love the opening since i moved right down the street from Docs house in Burbank. That tiny garage was built over the parking lot next to the Burger King for the movie. The Burger King is still there.

Wow that looks amazing. Thing I love about these 4k transfers is I "see" so much more of the movie. The colors are so natural. I am able to take in the whole picture, not just the main person on the screen. It is sometimes like you are looking out the window.

(Random sidenote: pretty cool to see Michael J. Fox actually skitching. I always knew it was him, but again the 4k stuff has me seeing and realizing these things more easily.)

Based on that opening sequence Part 1 looks like it could be another terrific effort by Universal!

Marty making Memes circa 1985.

I was going to do some comparisons, but even at over 900MB for that clip, YouTube's compression makes it a bit pointless.

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered, but if I have unredeemed codes from the 25th anniversary blu ray trilogy set, if they even still work, would they redeem in 4K via iTunes?

Eh-- it was just a question based on 3 movies worth of world-building

Didn't realize I was approaching "magic xylophone" territory.

YouTube vs Blu-ray:

You're welcome. There is grain but the YouTube compression is just poor.

Did the 25th Anniversary bluray trilogy have the disc that you need to insert into your computer? If so then it will only redeem in SD.

If there is no disc required then the codes will redeem in 4k for parts 1 and 2 but part 3 is still only HD in itunes.

I've had a subscription to the proper Netflix well over 16 years. Don't care for digital or streaming. Will outright sell the digital codes for this great Trilogy where I do sell them and I've thankfully never redeemed a code. Hell, I don't even care what resolution it redeems in as long as the buyer does redeem it.
People need to stop comparing the digital versions to the physical releases regarding titles. Should only be physical vs. physical.

Physical media for life and bring on October 20th (keeping the ENTIRE Trilogy!)!
