I look at it like I did with the 4K remaster of Raiders of The Lost Ark on Blu-Ray Disc in 2012 maybe it was filmed on a different film stock back in 1981 and the same with BTTF Part 3 in 1990 but it's only until now we are seeing what was shot off the original camera negative. Also it has to somewhat do with the kind of film stock it was shot on.

It looked a bit distracting to me but YMMV. I had posted a pic showing it but I will stop posting as only the opinion of the privileged few matters here.

Its there pretty much throughout BTTF3. I have no idea if its meant to look like that or its just a bad divx blocky stream on iTunes or its my ageing eyes or something wrong with my super tiny ultra low nit Panasonic 65GZ1000 OLED.

but if they added it to the 1985 scenes it means it's just added for this release...

DVD and Bluray don't have any yellow tint

I was thinking the same thing and noticed it in the 85' scenes too, so it seems like they may have thought it added to the picture but forgot that the whole film didn't take place in the 1880s.

Does anyone have any 35mm film strips?

I saw a theatrical print of the first film, but never got to see 2 or 3

The yellow tint was on Netflix? It could be something relegated to a 1080p SDR version, kind of like how the Batman 1080p transfers have a really heavy cyan/teal tint not present in the HDR transfer.

from your shot seems it's yellow tint face , I only buy releases after the dust has settled

it's not too late for Universal to FIX it , I remember during the DVD days the 2nd and 3rd movie had replacement discs due to wrong framing

ITunes 4K Dolby Vision. It looks like the colour grading is on the warm side (maybe a touch too warm) and setting colour temperature on the TV at Warm 2 or 3 augments it. I will try checking at Warm 1 or Normal.

As always let's wait for definitive disc reviews

Yellow tint you say?

Nobody would be able to remember how it looked back in the 80’s. People need to stop basing accuracy off memories of VHS PQ. Especially when Bob Gale is around.

Not sure if it was directed at me but you should read my posts instead of looking at my username and coming to a conclusion. I have said clearly I have no idea how it is meant to look. I did find the overall look of BTTF3 to be a bit too yellowish or probably too warm whatever you might call it.

I will try to reduce the colour temperature on my OLED to see if that helps.

I find it hard to believe when people say they remember how a film exactly (Exactly) looked in the cinema 20 or 30 or even 40 years ago.

It's like lowering the saturation to see if it helps (LOL) because you think the colors are oversaturated

Warm 2 is the proper setting.

What is the absolute earliest that Best Buy could be sending out the steelbook trilogy? I’d be happy if I can get this by Saturday at the earliest.

My last few preorders have been sent out on Fridays. One of them arrived a day later on Saturday. THAT would be best case scenario for the BTTF trilogy.

It's not just your or an arbitrary instinct that it's hard to believe them. Neuroscience has concluded it's not possible to remember that far back. For the VAST majority. Obviously photographic memory is a thing though more rare than society would want to believe, becuse you got plebs in this board positing statements like they are one of these special breed...

Quote:
The Fallibility of Memory
"We are a story our brain tells itself. And our brains are habitual liars."
Visual recall of exact details from 10-15 years onwards is stretching it, much less 20, 30 or 40 yrs. There's a reason eye witness testimony is not evidence in courts anymore. Memories "update" in the brain over time. And even then they are degrading in accuracy each time you re-remember them. Flat out, people saying they know exactly what the colour temperature was of a cinema screening is just false.

A very explainable conflation is happening of a vague broken memory of your experience with perhaps reading about how it looked or seeing screenshot comparisons (to home video or something) from the time, of prints; in the interim years. Then lump in via osmosis decades of message board discussion. Or in most cases just deluding yourself into role of expert on the matter because of an appeal to your emotion on the impact of the event and the conviction in your statement.
