Those screen comparison shots look fab. A tad of DNR but still looks so filmic unlike the over sharpened, waxy, digital looking mess the previous release was. The grab with Lorraine and her pal in the dinner I love. Look at their faces. Can't wait to spin these babies.

Neither of part 1 and 2 really make me go wow! I guess we just have to accept the fact these films were made in the 80s, used lots of old fashioned special effects and are never going to look that great.

They are an improvement over the regular BDs but only just.

I don't see why one would add a DPL decoding flag to a commentary track.

EDIT: Oh wait, the old BD has commentary tracks with DPL flag.

The regular Blu-rays are garbage in comparison.

Way way far from being "only just" actually.

The regular BDs looked horrible even for 2011 standards and people were rightfully disappointed back then.

This is, just like Scarface, an incredible upgrade to the old BD set.
Universal has been knocking it out of the park with 4k.

Some want the option of the original theatrical audio which is perfectly understandable especially for films where the remix has replaced certain elements (Terminator/Jaws/Batman)

5.1 we already had on previous releases. 2.0 we didn't.

As in - the original stereo, as intended by the creators of the film, is the worst audio in your book?

What I don't understand is that people want the original audio for a few movies and they want Dolby Atmos for other movies.

Some people want the option to enjoy their favourite films with the original theatrical audio mix and some others just want a total remix to make use of their high end audio equipment.

Both requirements are perfectly understandable and releases that cater to both are to be applauded.

Can't say for all people here, but for many of us the original audio, be it even mono, has more value than Atmos just cause it fills all your speakers. On the other hand, if a movie is theatrically released in Atmos, and then that said Atmos is presented on the disc - hell, that's when we want it too!

I'm sorry, but why do people who can't contribute in any meaningful way to the posted question still feel the urge to participate?

There is enough space on the disc to fit both the original audio and the remastered audio.

The concept of wanting Atmos on everything is hilarious to me.

Ah, the possibilities - Sidney's Lumet's '12 Angry Men'.....with state of the art, multi-dimensional sound. *Drum roll* Dolby. Atmos. If I can't hear that fan whirring in my overhead speaker then I don't wan' it!!
