That's what people are seeing. It's as good as it's going to look, yet you"think" it can look better because you apply a generalization to every release thinking they can all look the same.

Which is why my comment about you having zero clue about how films are shot stands. You're making assumptions you know nothing about, and you are 100% wrong. So it's probably best you don't keep posting about your faux crusade, because you really have no idea what you're even talking about.

And no, "4x sharper" is not "what I believe," because I work in film and I know better. Some shots are just softer. Some film stocks are just softer. The way some films are shot are not going to be "razor video game sharp" which is what you seem to incorrectly expect from every release regardless of production differences. That's what I mean by having correct knowledge before posting nonsense.

We didn't have digital compositing in 1989 and BTTF 2 had optical composites.

It's like UHD and jokes are in a symbiotic relationship with you, you miss the point of both.

What do you expect from posting links to Batman? both use the same 4K master. There isn't going to be a huge difference in detail, but the UHD has better compression, HDR and a wider colour gamut. Those are worthwhile things, folks get excited by them, they're not brainwashed, they understand what to expect from 35mm.

There isn't a magic dial where everything comes into focus.

Dude they are trying to help you. I get my a*se handed to me by Geoff on so many occasions. Don't make a song and dance out of it. Take it on the chin, or dig yourself a hole. The choice is yours.

So anyway...

Just finished Part II. My favourite out of the trilogy. I do feel like the film had a more processed look that the first but it’s no T2 abomination. Part II has unfortunately always looked the worst out of the three tbh.

Finally

People who put so much time and energy into "caring" about what others do with their own money are one of my favorite on the Internet.

Right?! If you have no intention of buying the set, why do you care? It’s so weird!

The movie received 5/5 rating regarding 4K image quality in blu-ray.com review https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Batma...230456/#Review .

I did not say it "looks better". I said it is "slightly easier to read". As I already said, the new releases are mostly superior to the old ones. But they do not utilize 4K resolution by far.

I don't assume that every single shot in a film will be "4x" sharper. This is what they want me to believe. And it seems that this is what you believe, unfortunately.

I don't expect BTTF to look razor sharp on UHD BD format. I just doubt that it deserves UHD BD release, since FHD BD could bring 95 percent of what the source material offers if done properly.

I'm not doubting 4K (or more) resolution scans. I doubt the UHD BD release.

I'm not whining about movies being available in the best possible quality. I'm just trying to tone down the UHD BD hype. Based on your enthusiastic expressions, it seems it is not far from brainwashing.

Improvements you see are mostly thanks to remastering, not UHD BD capabilities.
Couple of things-- the best thing about UHD is the HDR and wider color gamut, which is why even movies on UHD that come from upscaled 2K digital intermediates can look really great on the format. The actual 4K resolution is the least exciting and noticeable aspect, IMO. If UHD was literally just upgrading the video to 2160p resolution, I probably wouldn't have bothered.

Also, you have to consider that because of UHD, we've had so many great remasters to take advantage of the format. Even if you think a Blu-Ray transfer done properly is good enough, a lot of these films might not have been remastered and released at all if there wasn't a new format to sell. We'd probably get repackaged releases of the same old Batman and BttF discs forever.

Calm down, dude. It’s just weird to pop up in a 2020 catalog release thread when there have been plenty of chances to do this “rejection of fake 4K” routine in any one of the dozens of catalog releases in the past two years. No narrative. No conspiracy. Maybe take a walk around the block to chill out

If you or a neighbor are already getting a UPS package that day, then UPS will deliver directly. This usually happens for me.
