I certainly wish Best Buy were more consistent in their packaging. My SteelBooks arrived yesterday, UPS SurePost so the final leg was USPS. I expected a box on my doorstep but instead found a grey bubble mailer in my mailbox. There are a couple of rounded corners on the slipbox but the spines on the steels look untouched. No rattlers inside as far as I can tell.

If they throw my LOTR/Hobbit steels into a bubble mailer next month there are gonna be words.

Just to step back a moment or two... I changed my LG TV settings as suggested by users here because naturally I want to get the best out of UHD (and Blu). See spoilered info for what I have now. Any comments or opinions (or suggested adjustments) are welcome.

Target, Best Buy, nor GRUV have shipped. What worries is me is that Best Buy has the steelbook set available for pickup but states the regular set is "not sold in stores" and "not available for pickup." I hope that changes later tonight.

I'm just worried about the packaging. I tried two of Universal's Hitchcock 4K sets and both came creased/dented on every side/edge from Amazon. Looks like BTTF's packaging is the same....

So I was thinking. What if what we got here is similar to the infamous missing fade-out situation on 2001: A Space Odyssey - an unintentional screw up which the studio could acknowledge if we let them know about it, and do something about it? What they need is a push though. I'm thinking this quote from Geoff's review:

There's still plenty of grain so it doesn't go all smooth and that will be enough to placate most people and hey, they'll remind me that "you just said this movie ain't gonna be pretty, chief", which is fair enough, but there's a difference between a so-so source presented as well as possible and a so-so source that's been fudged via unnecessary stupidity.
