No rattlers inside as far as I can tell.

If they throw my LOTR/Hobbit steels into a bubble mailer next month there are gonna be words.
Mine came in a box from BB.

Just to step back a moment or two... I changed my LG TV settings as suggested by users here because naturally I want to get the best out of UHD (and Blu). See spoilered info for what I have now. Any comments or opinions (or suggested adjustments) are welcome.

Target, Best Buy, nor GRUV have shipped. What worries is me is that Best Buy has the steelbook set available for pickup but states the regular set is "not sold in stores" and "not available for pickup." I hope that changes later tonight.

Awesome reviews!

I'm just worried about the packaging. I tried two of Universal's Hitchcock 4K sets and both came creased/dented on every side/edge from Amazon. Looks like BTTF's packaging is the same....

It’s the day before release and still no shipping movement from either Target or Gruv. This is crazy.

So I was thinking. What if what we got here is similar to the infamous missing fade-out situation on 2001: A Space Odyssey - an unintentional screw up which the studio could acknowledge if we let them know about it, and do something about it? What they need is a push though. I'm thinking this quote from Geoff's review:

Quote:

As above, it's nothing to do with opticals and is certainly not there on the previous HD transfer. From 1h14m28s when Marty and Doc are setting up the 'weather experiment' in the square to 1h24m15s when Marty implores Marvin's band to play after he's cut his hand, the colour is essentially defocused and bleeds horizontally, especially reds and blues. This has nothing to do with HDR10 vs DV (like the minor ghosting in one shot in JAWS' UHD) as the effect is there on both the HDR layer and the rebuilt FEL DV encode, it's even visible on the newly remastered BD albeit not as obvious owing to the lower chroma resolution of that format, so it's something that's baked in at a fundamental level to this new transfer. Maybe it was a cock-up during mastering, maybe the physical scan itself was faulty for this reel, dunno, but it's almost like you're watching smeary analogue video in a way because the colour is so ill-defined. There's still plenty of grain so it doesn't go all smooth and that will be enough to placate most people and hey, they'll remind me that "you just said this movie ain't gonna be pretty, chief", which is fair enough, but there's a difference between a so-so source presented as well as possible and a so-so source that's been fudged via unnecessary stupidity.
