I’ve got a Samsung 7000 series 55 inch version and it’s getting on a bit now but I’m still happy with the picture. Having read your post your settings have different names to mine so I’m not completely sure what all yours would do. A lot of it I found was trial, error and time. If you’re happy that’s what counts. I put BTTF 3 4k in yesterday and it looked amazing. Hope this helped. |

I haven't been paying to close attention to the thread but has anyone noticed some of the changes made in the Atmos mix, apart from the whole Atmos aspect.
I've only watched a bit of the first film in parts and noticed that the EQ is hotter, although the original BR 5.1 mix has had some filtering done for whatever reason perhaps to clean up some noise in various parts of the audio, the dynamic range of the Atmos mix is a bit less than the original BR 5.1 mix along with various elements levels have been raised. Thankfully they did not clip or outright crush all the dynamic transients. However certain elements have been reduced or eliminated. There is some bass elements that have been removed or reduced in the Atmos mix such as the engine rev while the Delorean is still in the back of the van then after the Delorean has just rolled off the ramp. Around the 18:52 mark you can listen and compare the differences in the engine thrum. Effectively nonexistent in the Atmos mix whereas the original BR 5.1 mix it is more pronounced and throaty. Following the ramp rev there is a short cycle down sound effect in the surrounds that is more subtle on the BR 5.1 mix whereas the Atmos version has really pronounced. This is not the only differences of lacking bass but the first major one I noticed right off the bat. Apart from the top end being way too forward with a lot of stuff. Not sure if that has to do with the Atmos elements being downmixed but not all Atmos downmixes for my 5.1 setup cause such pronounced top end. Really noticed the high treble when the Power of Love kicked in, ouch. Last edited by KMFDMvsEnya; 10-20-2020 at 06:25 PM. |

Been chatting with Target support, they are talking out of their ass. Don't bother with support, they are garbage and not giving any pertinent information about pre-orders other than trying to get me to cancel it.

Hey guys,
I happened to see this at my local Walmart this morning when I was there. I picked up a copy to have the latest format of the movie, and have been watching the movies today. While my TV is HDR10 only, the amount of detail in these new releases, is fantastic. I was curious if anyone can comment on the included standard Blu-ray Discs in this set along side the 4K discs. Did they update the HD codecs from VC-1 to AVC? If they did, I'll update my copies of the movies on Plex. I can only find code info on the 4k releases, and not the blu-ray. I have the 30th anniversary as well, and those are still VC-1, the same copies that were on the initial blu-ray releases of the movies. Any feedback welcome, thanks. |

Sweeeeet. Received my set from Amazon. Got the first movie's 4K disc out without a scratch (by gripping with lens tissue) and placed it in a new black UHD case. Then extracted the new BD of the first movie, creating only the slightest hairline scratch that I'm not gonna sweat. Placed that in the new UHD case. The rest of the package has been stored away in the darkest recesses of my home theater's closet next to other unwatched franchise discs (ALIEN, JURASSIC PARK, etc) and discarded packaging (APOCALYPSE NOW UHD, etc). Can't wait to watch this -- but I've been going through my physical media in chronological order and I'm only up to 1980, with a lot of flicks between me and BTTF... so it's gonna be a while at my current pace. Might have to jump out of order for this sucker.

It's truly amazing to own a very famous trilogy on 4K Blu-ray newly remastered.
