Just noticed in my Gruv account there were only 1,698 orders placed between an order I placed on 9/11 and my order for BTTF 4K on 9/26.

It looks like they didn't sell nearly as many $9.99 BTTF 4K sets on gruv.com as they did on their ebay store.

Too many people refused to pay $3 for shipping on Gruv and wanted the free shipping via eBay. Which probably flagged orders and caused eBay cancellations. Like the $1.00 4K discs.

I paid the $3 at Gruv because I didn’t know about eBay free shipping and also, $13 is still a deal no matter how you cut it.

I'm watching Part III, and I noticed in the very shot where Marty travels from 1955 to 1885, I think the transition looks much smoother now.

I have the 30th anniversary as well, and those are still VC-1, the same copies that were on the initial blu-ray releases of the movies.

Any feedback welcome, thanks.

My Best Buy steel set just arrived from UPS. Despite having two deflated plastic pillows and so no real packing at all, it was delivered unscathed.

The steel art isn't too bad. It's the cardboard box art that leaves a lot to be desired. Why not just have the iconic Delorean on the cover and not three poorly Photoshopped actors?? Jeez they need to fire their art departments!!

Thanks KMFDM. It's much more difficult to compare the sound of the various audio tracks, so hat's off to you.

Glad to hear they are using AVC, will hopefully cut down on transcoding, and hopefully provide better quality.

Thanks again.

Thanks, I only noticed because I've watched the film plenty of times over the years. There maybe more changes but the loss of that extra bass oomph with the engine rev just stood out to me.

I do not remember the how it sounds with say the VHS stereo track.

Checking against the Spanish and French 5.1 DTS tracks the Spanish version sounds like the old BR 5.1 DTSMA mix but the French does not have that extra oomph.

So perhaps the Atmos mix is more correct to the original mix in that regard but the top end at least on my system is more pronounced.

I'll try to give the rest of the film and sequels a listen later in the week or so.

Has anyone else not had their pre-order ship yet from Target? I ordered mine way back in early August so I'm not sure why there's still no activity on my order.

Edit: Nevermind--looked back a few pages and it sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat.

Mine was ordered with them at the end of July and still nothing.

Amusingly, I've noticed re-releases often tend to steer away from the use of actor likenesses for some reason. Look at WB's upcoming LOTR/Hobbit or Game of Thrones 4K sets for example. They'll just use some nondescript non-human imagery. But Universal must've cleared those BTTF likeness agreements or something because they really went ham on all these badly Photoshopped portraits and character collages.

I got my steelbook set this afternoon. Everything was very well packaged. No dings. I will watch the first movie tonight. Unfortunately I won't be able to experience it on 4K yet since I still have a 1080p set, but I will probably still see a difference compared to the 2010 release.

Damn the PQ is incredible. Just put in part 1 to watch on my break from work (WFH has its benefits). So many cool details just popping out and the HDR looks incredible.

My GRUV order status just changed to "Waiting for import to warehouse."

Looks like it just might be coming.
