I doubt it. I mean, all 3 films just BELONG together. Together, they are consistent. It’s fans don’t hate 2/3rds of the franchise.

I would think anyone who wants the sequels surely will want the first movie, hence, they would just buy the boxset and prefer whatever case it comes in. I wouldn't expect much demand for just sequels discs - packed in what - sleeves?

For sure. That user suggested they would specifically hold out for not wanting the other movies in the set, regardless of price...

Felt forced and the late 80's version of the old west was pretty lame, not sure why they did back to back sequels like that(I'm sure someone here can tell me ) but there were too many trilogy's and sequels during that time- 2 BTTF movies, 2nd Ghostbusters , 3rd Indiana Jones, 3rd Karate Kid.

The best movies in the late 80's were the non trilogys/sequels, altho The Last Crusade was pretty awesome in my book

Same reasons today, and saves a lot of time (and some money) to shoot back to back. Fox was still real busy with family ties and some other films and its easier to keep the same production crew/behind the scenes people.

Huh, weird seeing all the hate for Part III here. I vastly prefer III to II, but I do love all three.

The original is king, of course.

'Back in the day', it seemed like "2" was the one most seemed to like the least.

2 has always been my favorite, and 3 my least favorite. I’ve rewatched 3 recently and I like it better, but it still doesn’t fully click with me. I like the darker tone of 2, it’s always spoken to me.

There's always been a fair bit of dislike for Part III 'round these parts, you get used to it. The original is indeed king, it's an amazing film, Part II is a glorious head**** (and also part of the "dark sequels" thing as was being discussed in the RoboCop thread in the main BD forum on here) and I like III a hell of a lot for how it inverts the original, that Doc is now the lovesick romeo and Marty is the straight man. The final chase on the train is one of those magical movie sequences that simply would not be made in the same way today, it's a masterpiece of practical action.

The characters are true throughout all three films, even if P2 has a first act they had to force themselves to get away from, and P3's setting isn't for everyone. But I love all three films.

The tone and visual style of Part 2 is just too dark for me. Plus replaying a lot of the original film still feels cheap. Part 3 is a lot more fun.

Same. I also feel like we're living in the alternate 1985 right now!

Couldn't agree more. I love how Doc becomes the emotionally-driven character and Marty has grown up a lot and becomes the straight man, as you say. It fits with the story of him growing out of minding being called yellow/chicken (which suddenly appeared in Part II).

Wow never realised 2 and 3 were so disliked. The original is my all time favourite movie, while the other two are not nearly as good they are decent and enjoyable sequels.

I wonder if this release will include any more Eric Stoltz footage than the 2 min featurette on previous releases?

For a movie series where alternate universes and outcomes are a central plot point, it would be fitting to see as much of this footage as possible on a release. The "alternate universe" version of the movie. (or at least part of it, I know they didn't film the whole movie with Stoltz)

It's unlikely but I remember reading an interview with either Gale or Zimeckis where they said they eventually want to release all the footage.

My 10 year old daughter watched BTTF for the first time today. She thought it was the best movie ever! It was a joy to watch her surprise and laugh as she went through the movie....she wants to watch BTTF 2 tomorrow, but I reminded her those of us who watched it at the time had to wait 5 years after the first movie...

Can't wait for the 4k!
