Oh yeah, bs bells went off, but sometimes I like to slide the blade in so smoothly that it takes folks a few minutes to realize that they're bleeding... Kidding, kidding. Don't have a violent bone in my body... (turns away slowly)

Got a replacement from Amazon for the limited. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. I really hope they don't use UPS.

Honestly...who cares? If you get it mid December you will still get it why do you have to have it the release day (or before as some complain about that too).

This has to be the worst forum for the "Sky is falling" because disc orders aren't in. The absolute worst!!!!
I personally am not in a rush, but I am annoyed that my Best Buy email says it will be cancelled if they can't fulfill it by 10/26. I would rather the order just pend indefinitely until they get more stock, or give me the option to cancel if I want to.

I used that promotional mystery reward certificate ($5) that they recently sent out, which had an expiration date of 10/25. I also used another $15 promotional certificate that I had earned by using my Best Buy credit card on purchases outside of Best Buy. Both of these were promotional certificates, so it's not like I cashed in my points to get them, and they can simply recredit my account with the points I had used. Further, if they cancel my order on 10/26, this will be after the expiration date of the promotional mystery certificate that I used, so they might give me some grief about reinstating what was essentially a $5 coupon that would then be expired at that point.

I'm sure if i chat with customer service, it can all be worked out correctly, but I'm not looking forward to what will likely be a complicated refund process if they do cancel my order.

It's far from a disaster, however, I noticed the VHS-y looking noise in the Marty/Lorraine in the car section of the film. It looked so strange. The film grain throughout the rest of the film was lovely, but this one section (possibly just 1 reel of the film) looked really bad with the noise.

Update on my target order for Blu-ray exclusive and 4k copy. Canceled and reordered and it shipped out today had to chat with a rep for them to do it so I kept the B1G1 1/2 off promo.

I wonder if this is related to that automated email we got from Target a few weeks ago saying you might have to click a button on the order to page to "confirm" the new estimated release date, which wasn't there.

Target puts a temporary charge on my card roughly every 2 weeks before a pre-order ships, I wouldn't want to have that go on indefinitely.

A little bit too harsh (because I don't think it looks downright ugly altogether), but pretty fair - they managed to notice a lot of glitches pointed out by almighty Geoff here, too. I wish official reviews on here would be like that.

It's a ten minutes chroma glitch, which starts at the scene of Marty and Doc setting up the "weather experiment" and goes on for 10 minutes. Then it just stopd. It's not even a reel. It's unexplainable.

They're the only site whose reviews I trust.

Didn't realize Geoff's already seen these. Haven't been keeping up with the thread, thought only reviewers had gotten copies so far.

When I am really concerned about something nice surviving shipment from Amazon, I just pay the extra $3.50 for gift wrapping. They will then put the item into a cloth-like gift bag and the gift bag into an actual box greatly increasing the item's chances of arriving safely. Amazon seems to be more concerned that the gift bag arrives intact than the item inside it.

I know paying the extra $3.50 shouldn't be necessary, but it is either that or risk disappointment and spend more time requesting a replacement. At least the gift bags are reusable, so that's a small consolation.

This scene was also mentioned in the review for this site.

If fans were hoping that Universal would use the occasion of Back to the Future's 35th anniversary to overhaul the movie for high definition, to move past the studio's previously acceptable, but ultimately lackluster, Blu-ray effort, then those fans are going to be delighted. "History is going to change," Marty says in the movie, and indeed Back to the Future now looks stunning. Gone is the filtered and flatter appearance that was best suited for standard definition DVD. Universal has overhauled the film to give it a very natural, unabashedly filmic appearance. Grain is intact, complimentary and somewhere between fine and dense but always organic. It does have a slightly noisier appearance in lower light interiors: the first sequence in Marty's home, for example, when Biff confronts George. Later in chapter 11 when Marty and Doc roam the high school halls serves as another example. The picture struggles most during Biff's tussles with Marty and George late in the film when he's making his moves on Loraine in the parking lot; the picture here deals with the noisiest looking grain and definition falters here as well, almost looking like video rather than film. But overall the picture bears the fruit of a healthy, filmic texture which serves the movie well, and it probably looks better than it did projected in theaters decades ago.

SyFy broadcasted BTTF III last night and that thing jumped off the screen, it looked gorgeously detailed and the image was poppy color-wise. Not sure what the source was (and they even advertised the 4K boxed set in a banner at the bottom of the screen), but man, I was impressed.

This is a useful tip I picked up a while back too. It's not 100 percent effective, but it certainly has resulted in far less replacements for me.
