I'm watching it now...I started at 1:14:05 (near the end of Marty and George rehearsing their plan)...I *think* I can see what you're talking about starting at 1:14:30 (look at the sky above the clock tower and the shading in the trees. 1:15:22 or so looks bad as well.

However, I don't really see an end to that issue for the next 15 min.+. I'm at the point where Marty is asking Lorraine and George to go easy on their son (1:30:57), and the dark parts of the image still have the same look as the clocktower sky, maybe a little bit better.

Does anyone have a timestamp of when their "chroma glitch" ends so I can get a better understanding of what is going on?

Yes, because it's not so perfect, true that.

Yeah, I got the timestamp - courtesy of @Geoff. I did notice it myself, but Geoff should be credited for identifying the problemo.

His words: from 1h14m28s when Marty and Doc are setting up the 'weather experiment' in the square to 1h24m15s when Marty implores Marvin's band to play after he's cut his hand, something happens with the transfer. The colour is essentially defocused and bleeds horizontally, especially reds and blues. It's almost like you're watching smeary analogue video in a way because the colour is so ill-defined.

And indeed. It's absolutely obvious if you look at white surfaces, like a bass drum of the band, or the face of the clock.

Damn! Damn damn! Universal needs to fix this promptly and issue a replacement program. The curse of BTTF continues.

So here are the images I was able to pull...not a direct capture, but via a pic I took on my phone.

I guess the 1:31:27 shots are a bit better (and I know, they're dark scenes to begin with).

I am not going to stress myself out over every little imperfection in the video (if there's any) and put myself into an early grave. My set have arrived today, and I'm going to enjoy these movies in glorious 4K UHD, Dolby Vision and Atmos with a bowl of delicious hot buttered popcorn, stress free.

Out of curiosity does this happen whether you play the DV or HDR version?

That's off the 4K UHD with HDR on. I haven't messed around with it by turning it off.

Well I had been keeping up pretty good every week, but I'm not reading 23 new pages this time, so the last few will have to be good haha.

I watched Parts 1 and 2 so far. I'll watch Part 3 on Saturday. I got the Steelbook so no scratched discs!

Part 1 definitely had a really good PQ. There was also tons of grain. I don't really like grain, but the picture was definitely top notch. Comparing to the BD that came in the same package, it was quite an upgrade.

Part 2 didn't look quite as good and had less grain, but it was still pretty decent. I'm happy with it.

Bit rates on both were over 75 every time I checked. They are 2 of the highest average bit rate discs I've watched. I think only the Pandas documentary was consistently higher.

Well these are my favorite movies. I'm glad to have them on UHD now.

I played both, and it’s there on both occasions.

Yup, that’s it. Watching on my OLED darker scenes fair better, but as soon as we have something white on screen, here come memories of my old VHS tape. Not that I didn’t enjoy the presentation, I did, and I can even live with that DNR moment of Marty arriving in 1955, but this.... for me it just sticks out like a sore thumb. But that’s just me. A lot of people are happy with the UHD.
