Don't know about in his case, but I once got a disc that had been scratched by a Sun Bear. One of my friends got one scratched by a Sloth Bear.

They'd then proceed to rifle through the draw, find the disc, carelessly pull it out of some infinitely re-used sleeve or plastic by grabbing it on both sides and then mash it into the disc holder. The horror.... Gawd, bless sealed products from the t'internet, I says.
What????
That's insane! Was never like that in the US in any store I was ever in.

There is also a player menu proper that you can access by pressing "Home" on the remote. Go into AV or Video settings again and turn off the junk. The one thing I leave on Auto/On is "Deep Color Mode," because I'm not sure what that is, but all the other processing I turn off.

In this way, I leave it to my Sony 900F to do the heavy lifting.
I cant seem to find this option in either menu.

During playback press Options on the remote. Video Settings will be one of the options that pops up. Go into that and you'll see Picture Quality Mode. Go into that and select Direct.

Yep. Happens around 46 min, then 47, and 49. I already messaged Universal, I'll see what their response is next week hopefully.

I had this same issue around the same time, when they were watching TV. My response was to open package number three (first disc was scratched so I was already on the second). I had to start the whole movie over (as I always do now with all 4K discs to make certain it plays without issue) and it played through just fine.

I mean, oh no, all my discs were perfect.

Without going through this entire thread:

Is the first film the only one causing grief, or do the others have problems as well?

2 and 3 were fine. And I tried to clean the disc, reset player, all that bullshit. I couldn't even see any obvious scratches either, so I don't know.

Is that pixelated issue occurring on the DV side of it or regular HDR10?

No. It played perfectly all the way through including the bonus material on a Sony X1000ES.

Steelbooks have not gone done in price yet. Same price as last week.

Watching the original now and have kind of a weird question but does anyone know if this was filmed in the same location as Halloween? The street in the peeping Tom scene looked so much like Laurie’s neighborhood I almost thought Michael was going to creep out from behind the hedge.

It actually comes with the 'life preserver'? That's kinda awesome.
Ok. I wonder if Universal will issue a corrected disc.

The old extras look nothing like the 'old' BR's movie though. Look like old DVD.
I just watched sections of the remaster blu-ray first side by side with the last Blu-ray and for the most part, the VC1 encode is notably better looking imo with bit more natural colors and much better sharpness w/o looking artificial (plenty of grain as well).
UHD looks better than the old BR but certainly more of a 'yellow' cast than the old blu-ray (but both are ok).

Do you think it will go even lower by Black Friday?
I really want it, but my budget is tight at the moment, and I'm currently saving money for black friday.

Yep! South Pasadena. Both locations are very close, just blocks from one another.
