Can you imagine if they made these today and had the girlfriend character just unconscious for the majority of the sequels lol. People would riot.

I don't really like Westerns (though I watch them) but I don't really see part 3 as a Western. I see it as a BTTF movie that takes place in the old west.

But the last time we see Biff he's just as jerky and a bully and covered in manure.

Then by 2015 he's back to being his insufferable self as Gramps Biff.
I think he's just incredibly intimidated by George after being showed up like that. But he didn't change as his core, he's still a bully.

Well the explanation we've been given is that he did return to an alternate 2015 and is being erased (which is why it looks like he's having a heart attack). Marty, Doc, and Jennifer are immune because they're from a different time. The neighborhood doesn't change around them because it was already run-down.

I don't find it that satisfying, but it's something I guess.

Then a gas can would 'magically' appear in the Delorean.

But like the other poster said, then there's no movie
For all we know, they did. The writers have said we're always seeing things the way they are the first time they happen. The first time they amend the note, nothing would happen because 70 years have to elapse first before Marty returns with an extra tank of gas.

If they added ‘bring gas’ to the letter then that wouldn’t make it magically appear at all.

It would appear on the letter Marty was holding if he had it on him potentially, but it wouldn’t change what he just did before he left 1955.

We’ve never had instances of objects magically appearing in BTTF. I’ve always seen the series as having firm rules that it never breaks. It’s pretty water tight.

Not a world premiere. They showed this last year locally as part of a popcorn film series. It was shown at a non-profit art center along with many other classics.

4K projection is not the same as a 4K DCP.

Is it any different than how underused George is in the sequels? It's the same issue. They lost the original actors and so tried to minimize the roles. So I don't think it would be an issue.

It's not fair to say they lost the original actress who played his girlfriend. Her mother got real sick so she retired from acting to help her mother. That's different I think than losing an actor/actress.

She wasn't available to play the part =/= she wasn't available to play the part?

what is ironic just a bit later MJF did a movie called Doc Hollywood and his on screen love interest Julie Warner actually looked pretty much like Claudia Wells, certainly much better replacement than the Shue

compare

I always thought the wig being hilariously bad and overly 80's was intentional to be a marker of the change for the character. And that anyone not noticing the replacement would just be quite simple of mind such that that probably wouldn't be the only thing that goes over their head in movies...

From a filmmaker standpoint they had Shue play Jennifer in a different way. Accurate casting was never the intent, is the point. But what was most in service of the sequels campier tone.

they gone to great lengths to "hide" Crispin Glover not being there but at the same time they didn't even really try with Claudia Wells ?

it doesn't make sense

it's very clear they could have found some girl who looks pretty much like Claudia , either way a big failure on their part for not trying or not spending some effort to find one

I don’t see why not. Crispin Glover was a gigantic pain in the butt during the production of the original film. With Jeffrey Weissman, they had, what I believe was Zemeckis’ quote: “Crispin without the trouble”. At least they credited Crispin in the end credits.

Dump too many cast changes at once and it might be distracting for some folks, as it is they purposely sidelined George to minimise the character's involvement and covered Weissman in makeup anyway, it works fine for me.

And then Crispin has mentioned that Bob Gale was lying about him, making overstatements, and continues to do it to this day, and that he and Zemeckis have patched up whatever animus there was between them.

In this business, who do you believe?

I worked with an actress about 2 years ago. She would get phone calls from Glover screaming at her. He wanted her friend to take down a video of them all doing cocaine together. You see the girls we’re all 18, and this was right after the Weinstein stuff. He didn’t want it out there that he likes to party with teens, I guess.

The stories of crazy Glover track. So I believe Gale.

Edit: in the extremely unlikely case he sees this and wants to Svet sue happy. Allegedly.
