The 4K discs are finicky. I was able to rip Parts II and III from my first set of Best Buy steelbooks, but it took three sets before I finally got the first movie to play/rip.
No problem with the BR discs. |

I don’t want to get involved in timeline talk but what I love about these movies is that someone creates the greatest invention of all time but no one ever finds out about it because these two doofs spend a couple of days going back and forth in time and boning things up in the least interesting town on earth.

Watching this set, which was my first time watching them back-to-back in a long while, I find it really hard to overlook where 2 and 3 feel cheap/phoned-in compared to the original. Part 1 is just a significantly better movie in all aspects, in this viewing. There was a good amount of time where 2 was my favorite, and then a long time where I was aware 1 was better but still thought 2 was pretty great. I've always disliked 3.
Now I actually like 3 somewhat more than 2. I'm happy the digibook itself has the art from the poster for pt 1 on the front. That was nice to see. Last edited by kidglov3s; 10-28-2020 at 05:02 AM. |

Watched part one and two the last two nights, UK version from Zoom. Very pleased with the overall presentation. Obviously the best the movies have ever looked and sounded. No issues of stuttering or anything disgraceful on a Panasonic UB820, the discs were spotless.

Not issues with the UB-450 on the first film for me either.
It is probably up their with Don't Look Now and Flash Gordon in terms of a UHD release really changing how I view the film. Honestly dispite Cundy being involved I confess I never viewed it as an especially strong film visually beyond iconic scenes like the flaming tracks. There is definitely a lot more to it than that though, scenes like Docs mansion in the 50's for example look superb. |

anyone here knows how accurate caps-a-holic is? I'm comparing BttF UHD to the Bluray and I swear the blu ray looks better to me...more detail... Not saying the uhd looks bad, but at least on the first movie, there are comparions where I basically see no difference between blu ray and uhd and other cases the uhd looks a bit blurry in comparison?
https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=1&x...3&l=1&i=6&go=1 like here...the bricks look more defined I guess? same with the columns unless I'm mistaken |

in switzerland not anymore available on 4K.
I asked in some shops. Some never had/got the 4K. I could buy the bluray they told me. Why should I buy the bluray when I want have the 4K and already have an earlier bluray release? Im so tired with Universal. Have not gotten the Spartacus 4K. And now this... I mean.. it's Back to the Future. It looks like 4K is death |

What he is seeing is himself going back in time. There is no alternate timeline. Yes, Marty is overlapping a bit because he went back a little early, and there are already changes evident from what happened back in 1955 (i.e. Lone Pine Mall) but that's it. You have to accept what is presented in the film at face value because those are the established rules of time travel in this film's universe. |
