I have the Dutch version. This one has seperate cases. It's the same as the French version which can be found on Amazon France.

Edit: I see it cannot be found on blu-ray.com. Here is a link: https://www.amazon.fr/Retour-vers-Fu...ps%2C83&sr=8-3

So is the theory that the packaging causes the disc freezing? And that getting individual packaged versions resolves it? No matter how much cleaning I do to these discs they still freeze and skip.

Man, I wish that Universal would finally do an individual release of the original Back to the Future on 4K with original poster art. Is that too much to ask?
I'm still rocking the first BTTF blu ray from over a decade ago because they can't execute a proper release. Hey, Universal! Less is more.

I would be totally for it, but studios would have to substantially raise the cost and lead to poor sales and eventually killing 4k physical media. It's better reserved for the diehard fans. How do I know this? You can just go read all the complaints when a new release is too expensive literally everywhere on this forum.

The second and third movies in my set worked just fine, but the first one froze when Doc Brown opened the door for Marty in 1955, in my case that was fixed disconnecting my xbox one s from the internet, I tried playing that scene a couple of times with the console offline and it worked normally. I will play that disc again today and see what happens.

An inexpensive way to get the original art is via the old DVD Ultimate edition. This is the UK don't know if the US was the same.

Buy this and put the 4ks in the box.

Or if you have access to a decent printer, contact this guy, Nissen, and he'll give you high-res printable copies. They're the best.

John_Carpenter also made 4K covers for the trilogy:

Taking a a slight detour from spooky season. Both have Blu-ray variants. Uploaded to the usual places, feel free to pm me for my covers as always.

Huge shout out to Nissen, who has sent me links to his covers in the past. I just got some double disc cases and used his covers. The cardboard packaging went straight where it belongs, in the trash. I have NEVER just thrown away packaging, but this was so deserved! I will never use this and I don't even want it in my house! It makes me that angry! LOL! I can't even describe how not bad I feel trashing this.

no, not at all. my set with the sleeves was perfect but my steelbook set was a disaster of bad discs. it is not the packaging. it's not scratching, it's just random chance of a disc getting a good or a bad pressing

The HDR on the first film is a humdinger. Honestly when I saw Marty roll up on his skateboard to meet Doc...there were tears of joy. The colors, and black levels on my Sony ZD9 reminded me why I'm supposed to love 4K discs.

This is a F^%#$G phenomenal reference disc in my opinion, and shows what HDR (ahem, 4K) can really do to wow someone. The colors just jump off the screen and through your brain.

8.5x14 - 45lb semi-gloss from https://www.redrivercatalog.com/ Fairly close weight and feel to factory Blu-ray covers. A little glossy, but not over the top. If you like more of a shiny look, you can go glossy. You definitely want the heavier weighted paper, though. Standard paper is far too thin and prints will be sloppy as hell, unless you go to a store and get straight, thick glossy.

You pay a bit more than from a store, but most of them come in 100 page packs. Most stores you're stuck with standard glossy in 8.5x11 unless you have a paper specialty store near you.

After comparing it to the Dcp on screenshot comparison seeing the amount of grain that’s still removed compared to Dcp. uhd losing that much detail makes me sad because I see how Sony handled the karate kid trilogy makes me wish this set got that level of detail and care. the only positives on this set is the colors highlights and the fact the back to the future 3 seems like it’s perfect.
