What’s Universal’s track record regarding remastered bd’s with UHD’s of pre-DI catalogue titles?

I hope they do come as a trilogy---- but with only a 4K disc for each film. The current set is great for all the extras and blu ray copies.

It's been long seen that the "remastered" BD's are usually a set-and-forget process, so I wouldn't hold your breath. That the non-HDR versions is likely to have been HDR-to-SDR converted, basically, even if there is a remastered BD at all. So it's not a definitive version as handled by the studios.

It may be innately better than the 2010 blu-ray because that was underwhelming, and processed. But definitive HD master? Nope.

That’s about as funny as a screen door on a battleship.

I just now revisited the original Blu-rays and man, I didn't know they were so bad. Or I knew but ignored it for long as it was the only choice. Jesus.

I have got one of the steelbook trilogy sets in 2015 that has 4 discs. Hoping the UHD has all movies and bonus extras in a neat packaging.. and looks good.

Wow, I just played the first film bluray and it looks terrible even on my 15" laptop screen! My ripped bluray is only about 25Gb on my server so they could've given it a higher bitrate. Let's hope the 4K looks good and the Blurays are terrible.

Perhaps it's YOU who can't relate to those "old characters" anymore, not the kids. Remember, ALL children who are five or six or seven are meeting these creations for the first time! THAT's why Walt so wisely created the seven-year vault for his films. Every 7 years a new crop of kids arrives to discover!
Think about it.

Mate, my post was pure sarcasm. You seriously couldn't see that? I was being sarcastic to the guy who said that they should still have the back to the Future ride over all those outdated 70 year old characters. Jesus Christ

Here's what I said.
Quote:
. It's a family/children's park and I hardly think the Back to the Future has more effect on the children and families of today then those 70 year old characters like ummmm...Snow White, Mickey mouse, Dumbo ride, Alice in wonderland, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Winnie the Pooh, tarzan, goofy's playhouse, Donald's boat. Today's children have never heard of them or like them anymore do they?
Quote:
Doc and Marty memorabilia/ toys and movies sell more than all those characters don't they. Not to mention their parents fond memories. You're right, all those 70 year old characters have nothing on the Doc and Marty.
Think about it.

The caps have been up at capsaholic for years, literally.

I've got the "DCP" version and it's so much better than the BD. NOT that it suddenly looks like a fresh new transfer as this thing is old - very old - in transfer terms, coming up to 20 years, but as a very competent telecine off an IP it gets the job done. What Universal did for the BD was DNR it then sharpen it back up again, I have never - eeeeeeever - liked that disc and have been saying so from the moment I laid eyes on it. Christ, even RAH went a bit apologist on it and said he couldn't see any sharpening and that they rolled off the grain more like a print would do. Uh-huh.

Really? The Blu Rays look quite good projected on a 90 inch screen, there's still a healthy layer of grain, that said, I would kill for brand new transfers.

The DNR on the current BD kills it for me. Bugs me every time and I am watching on a 55" OLED screen. Looks horrible on a 100" projector screen imo.
