Finally watched the first movie in 4K, the colors and light/dark balance are outstanding even converted to SDR. This is the first time I've encountered an Atmos track that can't be decoded properly by my receiver, it usually can downmix a 7.1 track to 5...

The old age makeup on the necks were not meant to be seen this close, it's terrible!

My least favorite part of this films, not only is the makeup sort of bad but I thought some of the "old people" looked way too old. It's especially bad in BttF II where I think Marty looks worse in that than he did much older in real life.

Hoping for individual releases with original cover art for the 40th Anniversary, but I somehow never can see Universal splitting up the titles from the trilogy box set.

I just ordered the "new" version today with the individual cases for each film. Unless it is delivered to my house by Lea Thompson and she watches all three with me I will be passing on all future releases.

I am furious!!!

I have waited months to buy the Mattel Van and Delorean Hot Wheels Anniversary set. I added them to my cart the second they went on sale. I had to go through 3 captchas to get to my cart and checkout, which then took me to a page to wait my turn with a wait time of 15 minutes. It got down to 3 minutes and refreshed to tell me it was sold out.

Just as bad as Ticketmaster for a big concert name. Can't believe it's worse than worrying about buying a 4k new release before they sell out lol.

I don't need this, but it's just absurd that I could add it to my cart the second it was available and have it sold out before I could purchase it.

AMC is showing (and selling) a Back To The Future popcorn bucket at SDCC 2025 so a theatrical re-release is definitely forthcoming:

I am sorry to hear that, there are so many things wrong about what you have described, starting by the idiotic captchas and then, if they feel this warning is necessary : Available while supplies last. Items placed in your shopping cart are not guaranteed to be available for purchase until you have completed checkout and received an order number via confirmation page or email.

It Is hard not to smell something is rotten there. It looks like a nice set, I would not despair, it does not seem to have limited numbers, you never know, they might re-issued it or it might even be issued with better quality by someone like Minichamps. That is unless you are a Hotwheels collector.

She'd probably be commenting through all of them, which would be an interesting experience. I remember during a Q & A session recently, she said "I kissed Michael fifty times in that car - oh, pitiful me!"

There is a local video store that has 2 copies of the Back to the Future Trilogy set, but they are different. One set has the discs in individual plastic cases housed in a slipcase, the other has the all of the discs in one thick multi-disc case, also in a slipcase. I would rather get the one with the individual cases. Is the packaging the only difference?

Honestly, I wish I could buy just the first movie--it's the only one I like.

And is there a set with the original Drew Struzan poster art on the covers?

Michael J. Fox speaking at ‘Back to the Future’ IMAX Screening in Southampton

Actor and advocate Michael J. Fox will make a special appearance at the Southampton Playhouse this weekend for a 40th anniversary screening of the 1985 classic “Back to the Future,” followed by an onstage conversation where he’ll reflect on the movie’s legacy, his career and his foundation’s work in Parkinson’s research.

The beloved film — arguably Hollywood’s definitive time-travel story — will be shown in IMAX as part of the Playhouse’s 80s Blockbuster Essentials series.

Fox will take the stage after the 6 p.m. screening on Sunday, Aug. 10, to speak with the audience about the film that made him a global icon, as well as his life journey since its release, including the impact of the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Very cool. I got to see the flick in a huge place with a live orchestra last month. They played the music live while the movie played. They even had a Delorean outside for people to take pics with before the movie.

I thought Huey has some form of hearing issue now and can no longer perform?

If you don't mind importing, the Italian steelbook is currently on offer

I luckily picked up the separate case version in Barnes and Noble when on holiday in New York recently for £43. Obviously getting it in hand saved shipping to the UK.

I actually asked the server could I look at the box before buying to make sure it was the separate case version, as my original copy is the US book version. I preferred that to the UK version.

Sadly, that is very true. It's called Meniere's Disease, which is supposedly related to fluid imbalances in the inner ear. Vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss are the main symptoms - Huey was first diagnosed in 2018, and he stopped touring shortly after. A cochlear implant allows him to hear speech now, but he still can't keep up with music.
