Why is Alan Silvestri's score not easily available on CD? This is one of the biggest movies of the 80's and it has really only been available through score labels. There was a similar thing with Ghostbusters and Elmer Bernstein, but they finally fixed that last year. I think of stores like Hasting's, when they existed, and the rows of film scores available and it's crazy to think you could not get BTTF or Ghostbusters.
I have a lot of the score memorized from watching the movie, but it would be nice to able to listen to all of it. Sorry, I didn't find a BTTF Music specific thread on Search. |

The 2nd disc was an alternate score so you will get the complete score once you purchase the 1 disc, also part 2 is in stock, that may hold you over til then since it has a lot of repeated motifs of part 1's score. |

Must have been a scheduling snafu or something else for Tom to not make it onto the reunion chat. |

Bite your tongue about streaming, but yes I do believe it will be a trilogy set. They only added the To Be Continued... tag to the first film when they knew there would be two sequels made. While they are nowhere near the quality level of the first film (though the third film does make up a little for the second's It's A Wonderful Life plotline and other silliness like turning Marty into a complete a$$hole and Zemeckis being in love with the Michael J. Fox motion control camera "cloning" technology invented for the film), I still have a morbid fascination with the other two sequels. |

Back when TBS had the broadcast rights in the 90s, they aired that version. Once new HD masters were struck (in 1998 I believe - Universal sat on them for awhile), it was removed. I’ve only seen it on broadcast TV a few times since the DVD-era, and on those occasions “To Be Continued...” wasn’t reinserted. Also, you don’t have to worry about the digital releases - when redeeming the 35th Anniversary Trilogy set they all are provided separately. I saw a really beat-up 35MM print at a Throwback Thursday showing in 2007, and it was the first time I realized that it originally had a “When in Hollywood, visit Universal Studios” post-credits advert. I wish they’d put that back in. |
