god i hated how they packaged the 25th anniversary for the blue ray cause it scratched my blue rays completely by taking it out and putting it back in.

Now i see this in a crap packaging. is there just gonna be a steelbook release for the trilogy set

LOL weird that I have tons of cardboard sleeves and not one scratch.

On another note, if a tiny scratch caused by a minuscule piece of dust can irreparably harm a professionally pressed disc you pay $30 for, then the flaw isn't in the packaging, it's in the disc itself. (And since blu-rays have scratch-resistant coating, that means that even if they do get tiny surface scratches, it doesn't affect the disc.)

I bet some of you buy a new car and are afraid to drive it, in case it gets a tiny scratch on the paint.

I love seeing all these companies going to packaging like this, since it saves a ton of shelf space and has never proven to be harmful to discs.

100 times this. My only issue is that I can't order from Best Buy myself, so I'll have to find the way!

I hope this means that studios are going back to day-and-date physical media releases and dropping the exclusive two-week digital download windows.
If the Star Wars set is any indication, those discs could potentially be a pain just to get them in and out of the sleeves.

You guys complained about the Jaws 4K slipcover, now again on the BTTF trilogy 4K set, and will again on the The Thing 4k edition whatever it may be. Still gonna buy em' no matter what! There's always a solution by making your own custom covers or putting them in previous editions like the Target 30th anniversary steelbook.

Am I the only one who’s noticed the digibook has the exact same layout and design as the 30th anniversary digital?

Slid in a Best Buy steelbook order as they should be the best disc packaging.

The triptych picture isn’t that great imho but I won’t buy a Digi with sleeves. The Uni release was a pure cluster **** for The Mummy release.

Lol it's pretty easy to find on ebay if you really need that one. Also on amazon but more pricey for sure. All that matters is that we get decent transfers. If it's like Jaws or The Mummy (1999) 4K editions, we should all be satisfied until the 50th anniversary edition comes out with the Nike self-lacing shoes.

I love this set. My parents bought it me for Christmas 2010 shortly before it went OOP and I will always be grateful.

Anyone know why the spine of the steelbook set says “35th Anniversary Trilogy Limited Edition Gift Set” when the advertised “gift set” version is the Target/Amazon exclusive with the hoverboard?

The old blu ray set had this really hard to pull out discs, felt you they were going to snap. This is definitely an upgrade. personally I've never scratched discs with these, but I understand the concern. I'm hyped.

Thanks! That would protect the discs nicely I would think. Have you had scratched discs using these or difficulty getting them in/out of the cardboard sleeves?

I'd like a version of the 4K Trilogy with the standard digibook packaging that doesn't have the hoverboard replica included. Where can I find it?

Did Best Buy charge you immediately instead of charging you the lower price at the time of release?
