So if I can just get that ONE disc out without scratching, it'll go into a nice new black case with the old DVD Struzan artwork cropped to fit. Steep price for one disc, but that original flick's one of my favorites of all time, easy. A perfect movie. I gots to have it.
No one forced you to buy anything. The sequels are packaged because they all belong AS PART OF A TRILOGY OR SAGA. To release the story incomplete would be stupid.

I’m part of the group that knows any hate for the sequels is lame.

There’s NOTHING wrong with II or III. The people who don’t like them are morons.

Looks like amazon finally matched target’s preorder price for the standard set ($42.99).

Ah ...so thats where the sudden drop came from. It was significant enough that I could not resist.

I'm sticking with my Target order, because I'm paying $1.55 less in tax through Target than through Amazon.

99% of the people that buy this will be fine with the packaging. They don't care about pleasing that last 1% because most of them are going to pull the discs out one time and put them in old steelbooks or boxes with custom art anyway.

Dude, you are an angry angry person. My post was simply sharing my experience of only needing the one "original movie" disc out of this set. I didn't even say anything like "this is lame, they should release these individually", and I didn't say a single negative thing about the sequels. I was simply saying I didn't want the sequels in my personal collection; I just needed that ONE DISC to come out of the sleeves scratch-free and I'd be happy. Lol, your instantly-antagonistic reaction is what's wrong with internet forums in a nutshell. And I do mean a NUTshell. Just... wow.

So by your logic everyone should share your fact (obviously not an opinion), and if they don’t they’re morons? That doesn’t sound like fun.

Lighten up, Francis. Back to the Future is a classic. II and III are... ok.

It's still one of the best trilogies ever. Like the OT of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

Are you gonna keep the 4k and the Bluray or just the 4K? Have you thought about selling the other discs and packing seperatly, it might help offset the cost (say $5 per disc and $5 for the packing *for those who will want to replace their damaged ones)

I'll keep the whole set, but only the first movie will live on my shelf. I have a whole side "storage area" for titles I don't want showing in my main collection (like the ones I mentioned in my original post: JURASSIC PARK 3 & 4, ALIEN 3 & 4, GALACTICA 1980, etc.) Maybe once in a blue moon I'll have a craving for 'em, and it's nice to know they're in the house... but my physical media library is reserved for only those titles that give me the "extra special feels". I even have my shelves divided into "Top Tier" (arranged chronologically) and then "Second Tier / Guilty Pleasure" (also arranged chronologically). I guess you could say the storage area where I keep BACK TO THE FUTURE 2 & 3 -- along with those other titles -- would be my "Third Tier". It just happens to be out of sight.

Thought the same. I have the BB steel on pre-order but just saw the price drop on Amazon for the standard and put in a preorder also. Will make up my mind in a bit.

If I don’t buy it, then it will never drop in price.
If I do buy it, 2 weeks later it will drop in price.

Happens every time

Pre-ordered, with rewards points to drop the price to an even $30. Great Scott!
