Zemeckis and Cundey weren't involved in the prior transfer AFAIK, Bob Gale is the steward of BTTF. I think Cundey would love to have a look see, if his involvement with transfers of several other movies of his is any indication, but Zemeckis is a curious one, he seems to want to leave BTTF behind and seems rather tired of even talking about it.

HOPEFULLY Uni get them both on board rather than just leaving it all up to Gale.

Having read his written afterword for the book "Back to the Future: The Ultimate Visual History" by Michael Klastorin with Randal Atamaniuk, I don't get that vibe at all. Plus, he is involved in the upcoming musical version.

As co-author, I can confirm that Bob Z. certainly has a say in the what happens with the franchise, however he does let Bob G. take the reigns at the start of each new endeavor.
