Has anyone who ordered from Gruv's website heard anything about shipping or a cancellation yet?

I ordered when they had it up for 9.99 from their official store and from their ebay store. The ebay one got cancelled and refunded but the other one is in limbo.

I'd love for this 4K set to be my first UHD purchase and if any movie(s) is worth a box set like this it's this trilogy of awesomeness! Which has also finally been treated with the respect it deserves.
I think more are going to come back in stock. I know people who, after seeing photos of the edition, are cancelling their orders. I did it too this morning so expect some copies to be available any time soon.

All the bonus features are carried over except the Animated Series that you mentioned, but that can be purchased seperately.

Got my steelbooks today. Well packaged but ugh - the spines were spliced. It's certainly noticeable but I'm just going to live with it. The steelbooks are honestly the ugliest I have ever seen. The spines are dull and almost have a faded look to them. If they looked better, I'd probably try to swap them out.

I prefer them over a digibook but they aren't much better. Why does every release after the VHS have the worst art work possible?

The pre-order price for the steelbook went down by $5, but Best Buy charged me based on the full price when I first ordered the set. Grrr...

So is the UK release of 'BACK TO THE FUTURE 4K UHD SET' any different at all from the US release? (Other than the packaging)?

UK uses a digipack with space for the discs and not in cardboard book.

Unless I get overnight shipping I can't see myself getting my Best Buy steelbook by Tuesday. I know UPS or USPS doesn't ship on Sundays. I'll probably get my Amazon order in first before Best Buy's.

Watching the first movie and looks great, only down side so far is closeups of doc brown really show the fake hair/skin/makeup on neck and face.

So that's good news, because there is an increase in definition.

The new set seems to be missing the U-Control picture-in-picture trivia tracks and storyboard comparisons.

One code for the 3 movie bundle.

That said:
Do NOT redeem the code for this new set in Vudu. The bundle in Vudu is HD, and the code will redeem HD. Use MA to redeem for UHD (ports the individual movies as UHD to the various services). Or wait until Vudu fixes it (possibly during release week, possibly later or much later).

Finished BTTF 1.
A little disappointed - and i really wanted to like it, i've been waiting for universal to make up for their sins of the previous blu-ray for a long time.
It is a huge improvement over the previous blu-ray and a lot of it does look pretty good.
But for me, grain is doing all sorts of distracting things - there's a 10 minute segment in the middle of the film where it's completely smoothed out and takes on a completely different texture. Other times it doesn't look very natural but then others it is fine.
I swear i'm seeing loads of what looks like mosquito noise too - not sure if this is compression issue.
I don't know if any of the problems i'm seeing is down to my player - but other catalogue titles of similar period don't have these issues.
Personally i think universal still owe us a better version. I'm sure that will come, one day.
