I had playback issues with 2 of the Alfred Hitchcock 4K discs; used a microfiber cloth to wipe the smudge off the edge my finger made from pressing on the disc and the issue went away. I actually love the digibooks these come in but the disc housing is impractical and, frankly, harmful to the discs.

I picked up my steelbook set last night and watched the first one... I was impressed. The PQ was an obvious upgrade... I was counting the wrinkles in Strickland's neck when he was in Marty's face in the school hallway.

The Atmos mix was a big step up... maybe not as amazing as some of the new release films but a definitely improvement and IMHO what makes this set a must have... along with all the bonus features.

Very happy with the steelbook set... dividers between the 3 and discs are stacked. Beautiful graphics.

Yeah that's why I stopped ordering steelbooks for delivery from BB and just went to store pickup. Not sure who thinks that putting a steelbook inside a padded bubble envelope is a good idea but it was better than a 50/50 chance to get them dented and dinged and I just got tired of making returns. Might as well pick them up in person...

Amazon is the same with their ridiculous packaging.

I had the same problem with the part 2, around 1h04min mark in the scene where Biff throws children football to the balcony, the it a freezes and stuttering in the next minute or so. Weirdly, when i rewinded the scene, it only has a little freeze like the player was changing a layer. My player is Sony UBP-X800M2.

Dunno, they were overseen by Gale and Cundey after all and there's a definite throughline regarding the look of all three. IMO it's more that the movie takes place in a lot of bright, airy locations and it's very hard to make those look like shit, both when they were shooting it and now 30 years later when restoring it.

Blu-ray Discs are much more scratch-resistant compared to DVDs. I would assume anyone who has this issue takes care of their discs. Otherwise, they wouldn't mention it. For the record, I always wash my hands before handling any disc and I always wipe my discs of dust and smudges before inserting them into the player.
