This was my experience in the first few days I after I set up the X700. No idea or expectation that there would be additional processing settings tucked away in a menu you can only access during playback. I seem to think the colour came out slightly different too. It was the dreaded smearing and trails left in the shadow details (even when stepping frame-by-frame) that caught me off.

what a bizarre systyem where a Sharpness setting goes from 0 = do nothing
to 1-10 = actually anti-aliase and smooth and then 11-100 = sharpen

You can talk argue or debate all day long and invoke all kinds of credentials of who is best to speak on this issue, at least on my OLED TV the best picture I've experienced for all different sources of 4K ive played on it from panasonic 820 disc and nvidia shield remuxes has been sharpness 10.

Why change even if a dozen experts line up and swear its "meant to be" 0 on the slider. I will have it on 10 as it's one element of what makes such an impressive PQ to the content I display (on B8).

I ended up watching the first one and didn't notice any of the issues mentioned in the thread. But I wasn't paying super attention in those sections. Still, I think I would've noticed something as erroneous as what's been brought up.

The outer box is a bit odd with not having any open sides, have to unfold it either top/bottom to get it out. Thankfully they went with standard cases for the release here.








Watched the first film tonight and glad to finally see a release without that ugly DNR/sharpened look the last BD release had, so I can finally retire the DCP/HDTV rips.

With all due respect, those covers are just as ugly as their steelbook counterparts. Try the brand new 4K covers in my signature, at least they pay respect to Drew Struzan’s work.
