That's the point though, ham and nostalgia on rye (hold the mayo) doesn't quite work for me any more.

By some miracle, Amazon box with no dents or even mild creases, and on top of that, not even the lightest of any scratch to be found on any seven of the discs.

Part 2 feels a lot like a TV show to me until they get back to 1955. Then it feels like the trilogy gets back on track to set up the finale. Incidentally, I never really got into Part III as a kid but I liked it quite a bit this time around. I wasn't sure I'd be keeping the set but Part III convinced me to hang onto it.

It's hard to convey the sense of futurism and awe that part II displayed to us as kids. The opening act was one of my favorite aspects of any movie.

Funny, because the future scenes in BTTF 2 are my least favourite parts of the entire series. Obviously it's not easy to predict how things will change 25+ years in the future, but everything about it seems so cliched to me with the corny futuristic technology that it lacks the charm that the films take on when they go into the past.

TBH the 2015 stuff looked cheesy AF even when I was a kid, now it stands out as the most screamingly '80s thing about the entire trilogy, and not in a good way.

That's the point though, ham and nostalgia on rye (hold the mayo) doesn't quite work for me any more, and I say that as someone who likes the 1955 segments the most out of everything in Part II. They just remind me how hollow Part II actually is.
I actually love the 1955 segments myself-- I thought the way they reconstructed events from the first film but showed everything from a different perspective was really well done, and I still haven't seen anything like it since.

What I find interesting is that the actual set up of the film, starting from the "cliffhanger" at the end of the first film, is what feels the most like what would be a standard sequel retread. It was just the same concept but flipped around a bit-- this time, it's the FUTURE instead of the past, and now Marty has to instill confidence in his SON instead of his father.

But I love that it all gets wrapped up in the first 20 minutes, sending the film into a completely different direction, ending with literally going back into the first movie instead. I always thought it was great, myself.

Both of these things are true for me. As a kid I remember being really excited by the hoverboard, the Jaws hologram, and some of the other random tech like the "power" clothing. At the same time I always kind of hated the whole sequence.

I don't remember seeing the answer, so please forgive me for the question:
The BDs in the UHD, are they the remastered as well, or the same old disks?

The only part of BttFp2 I don't really care for, is the Dark1985. Ever since I was younger. Well, actually, when I was a kid, I don't remember that even being in the movie, I wonder if it got cut out on TV Broadcast. But when the VHS first came out I didn't care for it. I tolerated it more on DVD and BD.
Now, it's just okay.

To whom it may concern, for yourself or for your buyers:
Yes, redeems UHD, but ONLY in MA itself. The bundle in Vudu is still HD, and so since this redeems in the bundle, using Vudu will get you HD. But using MA to redeem gets you UHD and ports (individually) to the other services.

Will the 4K bundle code from this new set upgrade my existing HD versions in iTunes to 4K?

(My existing digital copies haven't been upgraded to 4K, so I must not have redeemed them in iTunes directly.)

Thanks!

How would that work? They just go from 2015 back to 1955 without any explanation as to why they went there?

I've always had issues with this kind of packaging. The discs either slide right out if you tilt the case, or they're completely stuck. Mine were all stuck so I had to do my best to slide them out... didn't help. They're all scratched.

Damn, really? Yeah, it looks like every disc for mine is scratched, but only small scratches... guess that's enough. I just opted to exchange it for something else... I feel like these releases are becoming more and more of a gamble. You can never guarantee that every disc will be functional, you just have to hope... makes me wanna go 100% digital sometimes.

Would love that kind of packaging here in the US, but oh well. Appreciate it but I'm good.

Not all, just the majority. I didn't remember any of it when watching the VHS after watching the broadcast for so long.
And, yeah, tv always cuts out way too much, and sometimes makes no sense what and where they cut.

GR-UV itself, not eBay, said they are out of stock. They will be getting more shipment in in a week and two weeks. The replication house is inundated with orders.

I have finally ripped all three 4K discs without error. In theory there should be no skipping/glitches on playback - correct?

The originals are all back in the Best Buy steelbooks but I’m hoping to never need to take them out again ...
