Torgon you decide by all means, but steelbooks in general are very sellable for a decent profit. Or just buy some standard cases to swap out with the dis-like steels

By the way, did I mention that I consider the German theatrical logo to be the best international adaptation of that iconic BTTF logo ever?

It manages to retain the design details of the original logo: the connected "CK" in "BACK" / "ZURÜCK" as well as the final "K" in the same word which connects with the backwards arrow nicely.

Other countries had to jump hoops by bending "R" (France), "O" (Italy) or "Д" (Russia) way out of shape in order to accommodate that arrow. (link to a gallery of international logos).

Hopefully. My copy kept on freezing at the part where Doc is attaching the cable on the clocktower, and Marty is trying to tell him about what happens in the future.

Has anyone with a Sony x700 tried forcing HDR10 for the screwed up reel of chroma on the first film? Just wondered if maybe it was exclusive to the DV layer like the Jaws flag issue.

It's there on the regular old HDR10 layer, as well. Just watched this last night (just a random day to watch BTTF), and thought it looked great, except for those 10 minutes or so, that unfortunately coincide with an important point in the movie.

Besides that, and the arrival in 1955 Hill Valley fuzziness (about 5 minutes of screen time), this looked pretty damn great. A vastly, superior, presentation than the previous blus.

I called them again and they said they are not shipping any until the 16th. Will by the time I get this it’s going to be over a month while everyone else has gotten theirs.

While waiting for results I watched my 4k UHD trilogy, and boy-oh-boy I forgot how bad Part II is. It is also the worst looking of the three films on disc. Part III looks amazing!!! Yee-haw!

my steelbook finally arrived today from the states.

watched the first movie today it should be called back to thy grain! it's barely noticeable in the light outdoor area but my god the indoor
dark areas it's really bad especially in docs garage it's some of the worst i have seen yet! hope the other two movies are better...so far though it's definitely not 4K worthy.

i also experienced freezing in a few parts

Hopefully they'll finally ship an order from their own damn website.

Here I thought ordering from gruv.com was a better option than eBay...

You can definitely file me under the ‘seen these a million times’ category. I’m watching part 2 now on my JVC NX7 with 150 screen. I must say I’m definitely underwhelmed. Are these supposed to be native 4K? Looks more like a decent BD. Looks very processed, and I’m seeing jaggies on buildings in part 2.. it’s no Shining.. or even V for Vendetta.. wonder what happened to that thread.

They do make good use of Atmos though, lots of distinct overhead effects.

Edit: Comparing to the 25th anniversary BD, I can barely tell the difference. Returning this set as defective lol.

Except for those VistaGlide shots, it looks great. And even those just look soft (and in no way overprocessed like on the 2010 BR).

Some that ordered in September still have no shipping data, so don't feel alone.

There's something defective here bruv, but it ain't the UHDs. I find it extraordinary that several of the "I can hardly tell the difference" comments have come from projektor owners, the old Blu-rays look wretched on any decent sized screen (and proper viewing distance) and my mind boggles at how terribad they'd be at 150". But I guess taste comes into it as well, if people like the janky sharpening, errant dirt removal and constantly fudged 'grain' of the old discs then fair play to them, it's what the phrase "all the gear and no idea" was meant for.
