Hopefully it doesn't take iTunes forever to get the 4K transfers.

I've got a set of BTTF iTunes codes that I've been saving for the eventual 4K release.

Looks like there will be a French release for Back to the Future (1985) on July 3, and the trilogy some time later in the year.

Me too.

I'm hoping for a Casino, Scarface or Backdraft type Universal transfer here as opposed to what we got on BD.

Just need the first one, so I'm glad it's getting a separate release. Universal should knock this out of the park, given their recent track record.

If they release the original first, then at least they better release the other 2 separately when the trilogy set is released.

Because the announcements aren't really announcements. Someone hears something from a friend of a friend, or reads something on some obscure blog about a possible (or potential) release and bam! We have a thread. That's why I usually avoid this section - it's full of premature threads which are quickly filled by posts totally unrelated to the subject matter. It's not an official announcement until the studio issues a press release (which are themselves rare these days).

Even if it did begin from someone just hearing something, there has since been what id assume is legit news of Back To The Future events happening this year, so as far as i'm aware a release is actually happening or official, even though there is no release date yet.

Same. Even though the original film's undoubtedly the best, I very much view these films as a trilogy and couldn't imagine splitting them up.
