I have been really impressed with it and can't say enough great things about it. I have used it a ton in the 5 or so months I've had it. My PS5 and 4k movies look incredible on it and it handles 1080P content really well too. I have it in my light controlled basement and recently mounted it to a Ceiling mount on roller track for being able to angle it and/or move it closer to my various seating positions which works awesome for always getting the best view. It's also for moving it when I want to use my projector screen mounted on the wall behind it, but that's another story.

The deep blacks are exactly what I've been after since my Plasma buying days and it really does make movie watching a lot more enjoyable with the AR bars essentially fading in to nothing. Granted this was my first 4k tv and the first new display I've bought since the Panny Plasma I bought ~8 years ago, so I can only really compare it to that and some lower end 4k TV's friends have bought. If you're on a C8, you know how great the pure blacks are and is probably comparable to the CX. It is a massive step up from my old plasma which I was a little worried about, but I did side by sides for a few nights and the difference was obvious.

The only regret I have is not getting the 77" over the 65", but that was a hefty increase in price (basically double here in Canada at the time) and I'll eventually get a 4k projector in a year or two to satisfy that need.

Yea my brother has a 65'' GX and going to his house and watching 120hz XBOX SERIES X my jaw drops it looks incredible with the VRR. I will probably pull the trigger sooner rather than later. I have had my C8 for almost 3 years now and I have had ZERO issues with it...no burn in no nothing, it simply has performed outstanding with no problems. LG makes a great product!

Those GX's are sure beautiful aren't they and yes, LG certainly does make great OLED TV's.

The PS5 doesn't have VRR atm, but I've played Dirt 5 and WRC 9 in 120 modes and it was pretty smooth. Nice that we've at least moved to 60 being the standard now.

I am playing this on Oppo 203. Now I know in the past in the Oppo thread the response was always clean the disc. I think that is silly and not the problem as 1) I barely use the oppo. 2) as stated, I just opened up the set. 3) I then tried it on my PS5 and got the same problem.
The reader on PS5 seemed to "try" to play it a lot faster than what the Oppo could not do. But in the end I just had to skip to track 11 to continue watching.
I also had an issue at this timestamp, although mine only froze for a moment then continued to play. I stopped and restarted the disc and went back to this exact spot and it played fine with no issue. I have a sony ubp-x700. Seems odd we both had an issue at the same spot.

Since you have the same model 4K Blu-Ray player I have, can I ask you something? Do you keep the Dolby Vision setting on at all times, or only with discs that are Dolby Vision compatible?

As for audio, I'm exactly not sure what the sound differences are. I think the DVD I recall watching long ago had some recent sounding SFX added and an alternate take for one of Doc's lines for BTTF I.

Speaking of original mixes, it's funny that even the DVDs and all their dubs had the 5.1 remixes (which were ported over to the Blus and used as the basis for the Atmos/7.1 mixes).

I heard on some of the HD and 4k streaming versions (Amazon Prime and I think Youtube/Google Play) that if you have a device or sound setup that only plays 2 channel audio, it will default to a English 2.0 track. That 2.0 track is supposedly the original theatrical mix but then I also hear it's a folddown of the 5.1 remix.

I have that player and you should not keep the Dolby Vision on at all times. It will make your normal 1080p stuff look wrong. Just turn it on when it's a Dolby Vision disc.

I always leave it off since my TV isn't Dolby Vision compatible anyway.

Some 4K TVs and Blu-ray players defaults to Dolby Vision whenever it detects a signal on the disc that's encoded with it and if not, both will flag to HDR10.

Most of that footage will never be seen. They basically reshot the bulk of the film. They don't want to admit it.

The scene in the diner when Marty punches Biff is Eric Stoltz. That scene was never reshot. Watch this video starting at 3 minutes.

That is inside baseball geekdom that my 18-22 year old self probably would have lapped up. But no, Eric is not still in Back to the Future anymore than stuntmen are "still in" action sequences (instead of the actor) of most Hollywood movies in reverse coverage and longshots. Unless we see his face it's not a continuity error or inconsistent we are seeing Marty Mcfly on screen.

I watched Behind Closed Doors on the Reelz Channel and everyone involved with the film that was interviewed confirmed that scene was not reshot and it is indeed Eric Stoltz.

Okay, the SCENE was clearly reshot with Fox. That SHOT is probably Stoltz, or possibly a stuntman/double.

What proof do you have that it was reshot with MJF? Are you just going to ignore the fact that those involved with the film confirmed that scene was not reshot and the Stoltz scene was left in? If you don't believe me and you have access to the Reelz Channel, the episode will be airing Friday April 23rd at 1am (ET).

Because Fox is in the diner scene?
It's a single shot that appears to be Stoltz.
