Is this macroblocking really present on the 4K disc or is caps-a-holics' cap just bad? I don't see it manifested anywhere else in these caps.

Can hardly be considered "macroblocking" at a 400% zoom.

I think that's HEVC compression artifacts. I'm pretty sure I've seen that grid pattern before with HEVC.

Was lucky enough to recently see the first one in 35mm and it looked fantastic. Way better than any home video format. The colors and lighting looked so natural and you could see so much detail in the background.

Guys there is a "new" listing on amazon.it for the trilogy on UHD in steelbook, the one that has the car image split across the three steelbooks. The main packaging seems new though. Is this just a repackaging?
As I never bought a steelbook for this trilogy, I might get it this time.

This is not a new set. The 35th anniversary steelbook was released last October. Just repackaged.

Is the October one the repackage, or is this one the repackage?

I’m sure this has been asked before but I just upgraded from the 35th anniversary Blu ray set to the 4K Ultimate Trilogy set, does the 4K set have all the special features from the 35th set?

The only bonus features missing from previous Blu-ray releases is the Animated Series, but that can be purchased seperately.

I keep waiting for them to release a stand-alone 4K version of the original…maybe a steelbook if we’re lucky.

Don’t really have a great desire to own 2 & 3.

It has to happen at some point.

…doesn’t it?

Not with this trilogy. For some reason they don't like to break it up with individual releases.

They just did it with the Indiana Jones trilogy.

…I’m willing to bet it happens eventually.🙏

I hope so. I have the 4K steelbook trilogy set and would sell that off for individual amaray cases for all three films.

Count me in as someone waiting for a stand alone of the first as well. Glad I'm not the only one who likes to have individual releases as opposed to sets (the first 3 Indiana Jones and first 2 Godfather films are all I want to own so I'm glad we've gotten/are getting them separate). But the history of releases for this trilogy does seem to indicate we could be waiting for awhile/forever for stand alones. Hopefully I'm wrong!

I'm surprised they didn't restore/ finish the deleted scenes and reinsert them to do a director's cut to milk the franchise even more

maybe even an Eric Stoltz edition

Pretty sure what we got in theaters is the directors cut.
