The UK Trilogy set has been re-issued as a slipbox with a 3 disc UHD case and a 4 disc Blu-ray case, guess nothing similar has happened in the US then?

I still prefer the original foldout digi-pack though.

I picked up the South Korean re-issue as I prefer each movie in an individual plastic case. I took some pix of the outer packaging here (I also included an online pic of the individual cases since I haven't opened mine yet):

Maybe an inserted duped frame. Who knows.

Well I was actually surprised at how good the first one looks. Yeah, the 1955 period does have some lesser detail in certain shots, but I didn't mind too much on a 55 inch. It's been some time since I viewed this film, and it was a true blast from the past. Even an average 4K disc just looks stunning compared to my past viewing.

Wonder if the blu-rays that come with them are region locked to UK only.
Honestly, I do not mind the cardboard case. I think it looks kind of nice despite so many being damaged. My discs seemed fine, I just had some outer packaging denting, but not a huge deal. For the price I paid it was well worth it. I can understand if people have issues with discs, but the packaging itself is really cool to me. I like the OG posters and the book. I'm just glad this whole thing looks better than the bluray release by a mile.

Ugh, my part 2 UHD disc is freezing and pixelating around the 39 minute-mark on both my Panasonic UBP820 and Sony X700. It's weird because I watched all 3 movies when I got them in 2020 and they played fine. I just checked the disc, it had a few specs of dust, cleaned it but same results.

It's the UK steelbook set from Zavvi. Was there an exchange program or something for it?

I'm so annoyed right now.

After searching, I did find a contact page for UPHE, although it seems to be the US one. I still sent them an email explaining the situation.

Now I wonder if they will get back to me or not...

Really hoping this doesn't impact the new Zaavi steels. I ordered them to replace my set that's been defective since day 1.

Well, if it's the case, I'd rather not have to buy BTTF yet again! Universal should be aware of this by now. Let's see if they reply to my e-mail.

I can keep you posted when the new ones show up. They release 1/31 and will take a bit to ship because I'm in the US.

Tried to get in touch with Zavvi but, of course, they ended up completely missing the point of my request (getting a replacement from them or Universal) by saying they only offer a "40 day-return policy"...

I emailed back and will keep on doing it until they understand. I really dislike these customer services not reading and just copying/pasting their replies from their website.

So so annoying.

Been rough 2 copies of the trilogy on 4K now. 1st copy the 2nd movie froze then skipped and jumped in the finale. 2nd copy the first movie did the same. Had a feeling it was coming 2nd time as noticed a scratch on the first disc.

So annoying when I just want to enjoy these movies, Amazon will only refund now.

Hey, did you end up getting the new ones?

I'm still e-mailing back and forth with Zavvi, their customer service is not great. Has anyone been able to get replacements from Universal at all? Or is this a lost cause?

I finally found a way to watch the Back To The Future Trilogy. I put the BDs in and they played all the way through.

The old Blu-ray's are crap. At least the trilogy doesn't have LOTR or Grease levels of DNR.

While I have nothing but trouble with the UHDs the BD are of the same mastering so I would take that into your decision.

They're not top tier catalog, but are still massive upgrades from the old BDs.

Not in the US. But I have a feeling there won't be in the states, barring anniversary steelbooks or something of that sort.
