Star Wars is #2 in ticket sales, behind Gone with the Wind.

Ticket sales based on actual ticket sales, not dollars:

Who is Marty mcfly is an official back to the future comic that should have given marty both sets of memories in my mind, but chose to give Marty only the original timeline memories.

Hong Kong

I admit I didn’t browse the entire thread, but with recent discussion containing some posts about the crappy overall packaging, I wanted to share something.

In Hong Kong, Universal released all three films individually in UHD/BD combo packs with the original Struzan art. All the text on the packaging is in English. UHD releases in Asia are prohibitively expensive, but I managed to import these from YesAsia during a sale last Fall for a decent price.

Unfortunately there’s no outer box to house them in (nor are there slipcovers), but this is the best looking packaging these films have had since the Best Buy Exclusive DVD releases back in 2009.

They sure are expensive, $40.99 each on the website. What was the sale price you paid?

All I want is the original film with original poster art and a mint slip.
Universal, is that really too much to ask?

That's about average for UHD releases in Hong Kong and Japan. Most titles don't stay in print very long, which also factors in to their high prices. Depending on the release and the studio, popular films will get discounted reissues 6 or 12 months down the line with a cheaper MSRP but there's no guarantee what the packaging may look like and they'll have different UPCs and catalog numbers.

For these ones, I paid about $20 a piece and wound up getting free shipping as well. Still expensive (to me anyways), but these are my all-time favorite films so I justified splurging.

When I ordered these last October, YesAsia was the only store that had all three films. Parts I & III were in stock, but Part II was on special order. There may be some other retailers that currently have these for less than $40 each but I can't vouch for any of them.

For some reason Hong Kong UHDs are very difficult to find online. These were released in 2021, so it's possible they're still in print and the other retailers were just out-of-stock at the time.

How was their shipping? Did they ship in a box well protected?

Yep. All 3 movies were bundled together surrounded by bubble wrap in a sturdy box.

You can see in the screenshot that the expected shipping date was in mid-November. I placed the order on October 28th, but even with them special ordering Part II it shipped on November 8th. From that point it took about a week to arrive here.

YesAsia has been around for 25 years. They're very reputable. I've ordered from them occasionally going back to the infancy of DVD and everything has always arrived in similar fashion.

Over the years I've come to enjoy part III the most. The camaraderie between Fox and Lloyd is tremendous and the whole film is buoyed by making the Doc a proper character rather than just continuing the mad scientist schtick

The final train setpiece is quite incredible, one of the best action sequences of all time. It's everything the MIead Reckoning train setpiece should have been but wasn't

As trilogy endings go, nothing beats it for me

Part III marked my introduction to the franchise; when my family visited Universal Studios Hollywood in 1999, it was the only one we could find on VHS there.

I always struggle with Part III. There are parts that I love, such as what you've mentioned here, but damn does it lack the energy of the first two films at points. The ending always feels contradictory to Doc's character. Even still, this is a marvelous set of films and they bring me nothing but joy each time I revist them.

Hey, did anyone ever get replacements discs for BTTF 1 and 2 from Universal UK?

Mine freeze and/or skip on all my players (Panasonic UB820, Sony X700 and PS5) and I'm pretty pissed about it as these are some of my favorite movies ever.

I love all three but the third is the easiest to just put on and chill, if that makes any sense.

I'm with you. Doc is a lovesick puppy in this one, so his frantic and frenetic tendencies aren't there much. Marty also seems a bit tired - which, admittedly, he should be.

It's decent entertainment, but only the train sequence near the end feels like a BTTF movie to me.
