If you already have the Ultimate Trilogy boxset, you won't find anything new; they even divided up the fourth disc's content among the three movies.
Oddly, they didn't port over The Making of Back to the Future, Making the Trilogy Chapters 1-2, or the first episode of the animated series. |

Confusingly, when it comes to 4K Back to the Future boxsets, the Ultimate Trilogy (the one I have) is the "regular" one, while the boxset with Steelbook packaging is labeled the 35th Anniversary Limited Edition Trilogy.
I've joked elsewhere that if Universal ever releases a set with all of Eric Stolz's scenes, they'd need an even fancier label than "Ultimate"... |

Besides the absolutely abysmal packaging this is a steal near $20, stick the discs in your old Blu ray set

I think there's an issue with both discs on my 4k set for Part 3.
Firstly, the picture on the standard Blu Ray is way, way to overexposed; it looks very white. The colors look so bad compared to the 4k (even with HDR off) and even the (albiet blurrier) 2010 Blu Ray. Secondly, the sound is just awful on both discs. Going off the opening scene with the clock tower, I can barely hear various SFX and voice clips over certain other SFX and especially the score that I could hear just fine on the 2010 Blu Ray. I thought maybe the Atmos track on the 4k disc was messed up, so I thought maybe the regular Blu Ray disc (which is in DTS HD 5.1, similar to the 2010 version) would be fine... But it's also messed up. This sound thing is weird to me, because parts 1 and 2 have excellent Atmos sound. There were some instances in Part 2 where it was hard to hear certain dialouge, but that was rare. Were these ever addressed and I just bought a bad, early copy? I have the standard edition in the book style case with the sleeves. |

The disc also skipped over a few seconds of Doc's cheer after sending Marty back to 1985, even though that chapter previously played fine when I watched it out of context.
Parts II and III didn't skip, so I wonder if I did so because of either Universal's screensaver, or because I stopped and played the movie during the dance (to see if turning off Dolby Vision would make the picture clearer, but I don't think it did). |
