Marty wears the digital watch in Part I right up until it piques the interest of the cafe owner in 1955 when it goes off while he's using the telephone. There must've been a deleted shot where he takes it off and puts it in his pocket because you never see it on him again after that. Especially not when he changes into 1955 attire. And even when he's back in his 1985 clothes, it's still not on his wrist. |

To people who will only upgrade film #1:
I'll bet that the lions share of you will still watch this as a trilogy. I know I always do, regardless of the fact that the first one is the best. So not upgrading 2 & 3 means "I'm going to watch 1/3 of the whole story it in UHD, then accept the lower quality for the remaining 2/3s of the story". I find that weird. It only makes sense to me if you're someone who is determined to not watch anything but the first. |

Yup doesn’t make sense to me although my feeling about BTTF and The Matrix are exactly like this, I still bought the entire trilogy of Matrix and (in the future) BTTF.

I can't bring myself to get the other two Matrix films. Unlike BTTF, the sequels were soooooo bad compared to the original film - like parodies. BTTF 2 & 3, though weaker fare, are at least still entertaining and they do try anyway. |

Ah the internet where there’s debate over a (IMO) funny, harmless covid joke, followed immediately by several people saying each other and members of the community are autistic without batting an eye.

II is a lot of fun, it's perhaps more in love with the VFX than the story but it still works, and when seen in context for the trilogy then the darkness is very apt, you've gotta have the heroes run into some real trouble in the second part (Empire Strikes Back etc). III is glorious though, twisting the plot of the first movie on its head by making Marty the square and Doc the infatuated loverboy and the wild west setting may seem hokey but it gives it a more dangerous edge as people have said. And the finale with the train, oh mai, it's a triumph of physical filmmaking, it's astonishing to watch in the CG era. Last edited by Geoff D; 05-18-2020 at 04:10 PM. |

I had the DVDs (the only time I ever watched them) and I have the Ultimate Blu-Ray collection. I figured I'd upgrade and watch them. I couldn't even finish the first, it was just so bad. I had liked them all back in '05? when I finally watched them. |

Part 1 is my favorite. And I really enjoyed 2 and 3. I'll be picking up all 3 on UHD.

The first Back to the Future is vastly superior to the two sequels, but I always watch all three of them in sequence whenever I revisit. The other two movies definitely have their fun moments.
