Sooo....Netflix is cropped on the top and the sides.

I could be wrong but it looks more like amazon opened it up to 1.78 and Netflix is showing the proper 1.85. Not sure about the sides tho, framing may be slightly different.

Yeah, it just looks to be in the proper ratio now. The colors look greatly improved.

The colours in the Netflix shot are significantly better. And yet still not as saturated as 35mm prints. At least we’re going in the right direction with UHD. Starting with DVD and continuing throughout the Blu-ray era, we have nearly two decades worth of ruined home video releases, with either desaturated colors or green/orange revisionism. We need to make colours great again.

Even after it's announced, there will always be the requisite whiners, b i t c h e r s, moaners and complainers. Oooooh, the colour pallette's off. It's not in true UHD. Ooooh, the sound is off by 2 microhertz on the low end.

I'm not a fan of the cropping, going from 1.78 to 1.85 should open up MORE info on the sides and not change the top or bottom. Here we lose a little on the sides and lose a lot on the top and bottom.

I do like the colors and we pick up a healthy amount of detail in the mids.

The contrast boosting gives it a less "muddy" look to it but we get some clipping in the highs and black crush in the lows.
