Did a quick moc up of what I'd wish the cover would be (it says 30th cause I was too lazy to make it 35 lol) Might try a full size at somepoint

I hope they release these films as standalones too.

Would hugely prefer to buy just the 1st film.

Is there a link for the 4K set standard edition? I don’t need the hoverboard, and I’m not that big of a fan of steel books.

Target hoverboard is Blu only. The Amazon Hoverboard is 4K. The 4K’s are more expensive. Also prices go down. Those are MSRP.

Had a $10 credit for Best Buy so I went with the Steelbook set instead, it’s the same price as the gift set listed on Amazon.

Same here.

I already have the old steelbook from Target, but I don’t want the tight sleeves. Do the standard and hoverboard versions have the tight sleeves?

Fat chance. Still waiting on a domestic release of Jurassic Park myself

From the pictures it looks like they do, similar to the Fast & Furious set.

Definitely no need to necro this thread but now that it is here maybe just merge it into the main trilogy thread?

I have been usually lucky with them as well...but The Mummy 4K set from a couple years ago was a disaster. The first two films were rendered unwatchable from around the middle of their screentime due to the amount of scratches. The regular blus were left pretty unscathed which sadly tells me that 4K discs might be more prone to damage like this

I think I'll go with the regular packaging I'm not a fan of the steel book artwork

So the standard edition is exactly the same as the hoverboard one minus the hoverboard itself..both being digipacks?

Anyone know the asking price for the "normal" release? Can't seem to find it anywhere.......

Also, when I look at the "normal" release, it says only 6 discs. Does it not have the bonus disc?

That's because there's no listing for it yet.

I loathe sleeve-style packaging, but I also really dislike the impracticality of Steelbooks. Especially ones being sandwiched together in a slipcase. (It's almost like you get to choose: Scratches on discs, or scratches on steelbooks... ) Since it looks like I'll be going the custom cover route, I may just have to get whatever set will get me the (hopefully undamaged) discs the cheapest.

I swear, the rights holder to these films really has a thing for Digibooks...

Tempted to go Steelbook just to have the individual cases instead of a digibook.

Never mind!

Glad to see that we are getting something new.
New bonus consists of over an hour of content:

BACK TO THE FUTURE: THE MUSICAL BEHIND THE SCENES - Get a sneak peek at the new musical show including a Q&A with the cast and creative team plus 2 new song recordings.
AN ALTERNATE FUTURE: LOST AUDITION TAPES - Get a glimpse of the Back to the Future that could have been with rare audition footage featuring now-famous celebrities.
COULD YOU SURVIVE THE MOVIES? BACK TO THE FUTURE - Explore the magic and science of Back to the Future and find out which laws of physics were actually violated in this special episode of the popular YouTube series.
