maybe they live near the beach and have sand all over the place?
I guess all the people who've had playback issues with this type of packaging in the past were just having their minds glitch when watching them? I could also play the "I don't believe it!" game when it comes to stacked discs as I had zero issues with the Star Warses (so far, having watched 1-6 and despite several having radial scratches on them) while some people have run into several problems. It's a wonder how they'd get scratched so easily despite merely resting atop another disc's artwork which isn't exactly coated in diamond dust...and yet scratched they are.

I hate this style of packaging like I said...but with Redcard that is $30 cheaper than the Best Buy steelbook; so I can’t justify buying that version for almost double the price. Thanks for the heads up on this price.

To be honest, the issue is the hassle more than anything just to get the discs in and out of the sleeves. I have the Star Wars UHD set, and after seeing how much force (hehe) I needed to apply to get the discs out, and then testing with a CD just to see how much force I needed to get one back in, I decided that my SW discs weren't going back into those sleeves ever again.

That said, the previous Star Wars BD set from Fox (the digibook from 2011) has such lovely and much better packaging (size and materials wise), and the sleeves are actually way easier to handle. Those aren't an issue at all, I guess it depends on the kind of sleeves that are used.

Don't hold your breath. Seriously though, I can understand the inclusion of the inferior sequels in the artwork, but that is a total cheesefest they have going on. How come Jaws fans can get a cool looking 4K release of the original without being forced to buy Jaws 2 and Jaws 3D yet, Back to the Future is Trilogy or Nothing!? But I digress.
The hoverboards always looked like Barbie junk. Mattel made them

So the extra $27 is for the hoverboard?

I just pre-ordered the Best Buy Steelbooks editions. I was actually torn about this. I was going to get the Target edition since I don't have 4K yet, but then I saw the Best Buy edition and I love Steelbooks so I bought that set. Plus the blurays come with it. Also, I only have the DVD set that came out in 2002. I figured it was time for an update.

I actually liked the early mock-up art for the Trilogy with the rear view of the DeLorean. This? I'll see what UK offers. It's ugly plus has sleeves. Maybe I'll just wait for individual releases and hope they're better.

While it's fun to make fun of the ridiculously terrible packaging (and boy, these are dogs), like others have said, the discs and transfers are what's important. If I hate the packaging, I'll try not to stare at it too long when I pull it out to watch the movies

I think I'll be fine with the book, though. The inner pages look cool with photos and the original posters, aside from the laughably terrible outer case.

I try to avoid these sets like the plague but of the few I've had in recent years like the Spider-Man (Maguire) 4K set and the Fast and Furious 8 movie set there were scratches already present on several of the discs, bought brand new and factory sealed. They didn't personally cause me any playback problems but different players have different tolerances, so when other people say that they've had a litany of playback issues with sleeved discs then I've no reason to disbelieve them or automatically assume that they're treating the discs like crap.
A disgrace that employees don't do their work more carefully. To avoid these problems, maybe I'll go for the BTTF steelbooks (Not a fan of the artwork but when you have it in your hands many times it looks better than photos or videos)

Agreed. Lose the tagline and it's perfect.

Most people consider Futures 2 and 3 to be on a par with the original - and it is a trilogy. No one considers the Jaws sequels to be on par with the original classic.

Yeah, with the Steelbook pre-order gone this was too good to pass up. Fantastic price for the UHD set.

Big thanks for the heads up on the Target deal. Wasn't sure what else I wanted to grab with the BOGO, went with Whiplash.
