Less compressed version on Vimeo. There's grain on this one! What a relief.
a little strange they keep uploading the trailer as 1080P
but this Vimeo one certainly shows some promise

Amazing video, thanks for sharing, I like the sharpness on the Hill Valley shot. Can't wait for this release!

That Vimeo video now has me quite excited for this. Thar be grain aplenty, and that’s just from a compressed streaming video!

Think the non-hoverboard collection will fit inside my Flux Capacitor boxset if I resell the blu-rays? ::fingers crossed::

My problem is people being cheapskates. As I’m a firm believer that “you get what you pay for”.

Holy hell that looks WAY better than the same clip on Youtube. Universal may have finally gotten this one right!

I'm fine either way. I was just curious. Some of you nerds need to change your tampons.

Always thought the previous transfers all looked dull and desaturated, with kind of unpleasant, pinkish skintones. Was secretly hoping we'd get something different this time around, but I guess that's just the way the movies are supposed to look. Anyone see any film prints of them recently?

Oh mai. I got chills watching that, not just 'cause it's BTTF but that it's got grain and that it still LOOKS like BTTF, they haven't upended the colour for the sake of it. The highlights are totally nuked but eh, that's SDR for you.

Curious. I always hated the colour on the BD because the skin tones are far too orangey.

Yeah even though that video is heavily compressed, you can still see that the new transfer looks a lot better than the previous one.

We might be onto another Universal winner here folks!

I hope the 4K restoration retains the post-credit advertisement for the Universal Studios theme park ("When In Hollywood Visit Universal Studios") that was on the theatrical print:

this actually seems to be a trailer for a theatrical re-release
hope they push it back to 2021 or repeat it again in 2021 because 2020 ain't happening in my area when it comes to movies (major market too)

the thing is people are not nearly so saturated as people think, many are pale
walk around people of the type seen in those scenes in real life and they don't have deep saturation, it's a natural look, not some fake, artificial, turning up chroma to 10,000 on your TV look

They're generally not pink either, and it's not just skintones. I was sampling the remaster of Part II on Netflix and it's frequently got this kind of pale, dull appearance, ever so slightly approaching a two-strip Technicolor look, like it's missing a bit of color from the green channel or something. None of the vegetation in the movie is ever actually green, it's always some really pale or bluish green.

Probably just the way the movie is, maybe something with the film stock or the processing, or maybe it was shot a bit underexposed.

Went ahead and pre-ordered with Best Buy because their exclusive has the least egregious cover art, but it's still not great. Too bad these major studios can't take a page from the smaller boutique labels, like Shout Factory, and give us that sweet, sweet OG poster art.
