You make a good point and I truly admire and respect your solidarity. But you have to realize where I’m coming from. As a born and bred American who played the sport avidly, long before the phrase ‘soccer Mom’ was ever coined in the U.S., I became a big fan of English football, or really soccer in general, but especially English football. I was a neutral observer for a long time…in other words, team agnostic. Additionally, I had no affiliation really toward any town or region in England.

Over the course of time, I chose Arsenal as a team to support because I loved the way they played the game, which, in retrospect, I believe was because of the way the organization ran the club…from the manger and his assistants on up to the Board/ownership.

Things have changed, and I’m not talking about the team just losing more matches than they used to.

I’m shopping around, had enough.

Must do a 4K tie-in with all this soccer talk….

Probably little known fact to many was that a couple months back there was a J-League soccer match between the Vegalta Sendai and the Urawa Reds

which was transmitted live in 4K from Yurtec Stadium Sendai to Odaiba Cinema Mediage in Tokyo.

Stee, on the other hand, I’ll always be a Baltimore sports team supporter (be it the Ravens or Orioles), come hell or high water, as I would walk with my Dad to Memorial Stadium back in the day, even in the snow.

So there’s some family tradition and legacy I have there, but which, I guess is lacking with any English football club team, just given personal circumstances and geography. So, I believe I can be more of a free spirit in my soccer support.

Yes, fair enough. Believe me, entertainment is a not a word i can use for yesterday's shambles. Failing to beat the bottom side in the league at home on a miserable night of rain, freezing wind and demoralized fans just proves that it must be in my blood, otherwise i would have been at home in front of the fire with a film. Worrying times for Sunderland fans. Anyway, Penton Man, point taken and here is hoping for better times for both sides in the future.

Many old classic films were shot in 70mm and they look beautiful. So much sense of depth and realness.

If a 4K digital camera with a 35mm sensor replaces 35mm film, shouldn't 8K digital with a 70mm sensor replace 70mm film?

Imo, no digital camera has that look of 35mm or especially 70mm film.
