I've only seen this once and remember having mixed feelings about it, but I'm willing to give it another shot on UHD.

It's not as good as Warzone as he only really the punisher right at the end, but for 4k Kevin Nash I am in.

I have been hoping Lionsgate would release this, now if it is the extended cut that would be even more awesome.

If it was the 89 version, I would let a massive delighted squeal. But I am also pleased to get this on 4K as well.

Seriously, though I need the Lundgren version at least on Blu-Ray in North America.

Exactly my same point. Preferably both cuts, but if there is a need for one or the other, extended all the way. I guess in lieu of the TV series, there is more interest on the previous movies. All for it though, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I'll admit, I wasn't a huge fan of this when I first saw it in theaters (then again, all of my hype was invested in Kill Bill Vol. 2 at the time, which I saw the same day after seeing this), but it's definitely grown on me over the years. And while the extended cut isn't perfect, it helps fill in more gaps and is the slightly better film.

All of that being said, considering the last release of this film was 12 years ago when blu-ray was in its MPEG-2 infancy, a 4K version (let alone a blu from a new 4K master) would be quite welcome. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll be lucky enough to get the extended cut in 4K (or even HD) as well. However, hopefully Lionsgate is at least smart enough to put the extended cut on as a bonus, worst case scenario. Just sucks that the extended cut has never made it past standard definition.

The non-US BD from Sony is AVC, and according to the reviews is significantly better than the MPEG-2 one. Granted I've only seen the Sony one, it definitely looks nice. Lossless audio too.

I saw a post on Facebook that Nameless Media over in Germany is releasing a special edition of the extended cut on standard Blu. Does anyone have any info on this? I can't seem to find when it will go up for pre order nor if it will be available on Amazon delivery.
