No problem! I was expecting at least something to be 1080i50, but nothing is. Double checked all the video features (including start-up trailers) and menus, and everything is 1080p24. On the UHD, the initial boot screen is 1080i60 (but I'm not sure I've seen one that isn't 1080i60).

Just watched this in Dolby Vision. Great disc. The HDR really stands out in places, especially the darker scenes. The postbox scene with Paddington with the red and night lighting is spectacular.
I found there to be a quite a lot of lighting on faces at some point but this could just be my TV settings. Also found some faces to not be as sharp as they could be. However it really is a great disc overall. Nice atmos soundtrack as well and great film. |

This movie is very bright in almost every scene. There's always a bright light shining into interiors from windows even at night. The picture was sharp (a smidge away from being razor sharp), but a bit soft in some wider shots. This movie has one of the most eye pleasing color palletes and the pastel colors really stick out. The color is vivid especially with the oranges in the prison kitchen.
There were 4 scenes that really stood out with demo worthy HDR and those are the bicycle chase scene at the beginning of the movie, The prison scene when they are making desserts, the prison escape, and the train scene at the end. The movie is so bright that there are only a few scenes that get to show off deep blacks and in those scenes the blacks are inky. The light against dark wowed me especially whenever it showed London bridge at night and the shot over London when they are in the hot air balloon. The picture is always very bright even at night and there are times when it looks like the scene is happening in front of me in real life. The scene at the end where they are coming out of the water looked insanely real. This is a definite must own for enthusiast and is one of the very best representations of HDR. Demo worthy material! |

I agree with desertedsun. This disc really shows off how good Dolby Vision is compared to HDR10. Found the movie to be really good, although
[Show spoiler] but other than that, really great film. Loved the first one as well, shame no 4k for it!

Gave this a spin last night.
Quite possibly my new reference disc! This thing is beautiful to look at and the film is an absolute delight too. Also, it was kinda nice to see a 24p frame rate - not something I've seen on a main feature before on Blu-ray or UHD (I did notice the Studio Canal logo was 24p on other discs though). Is this the norm for them now rather than the normal 23.9xx? |

The standard Blu-ray is 24p too.
I didn't have any playback issues on my LG. I wouldn't expect there to be a visible difference but it tickles my OCD in the right way to know that I'm seeing it in the native frame rate ![]() The standard Blu-ray is lovely looking btw but lacks the immediate impact and detail of the UHD. Much more subdued colours but very attractive in its own way. |
