Heh, that would require Fox to give a rat's ass about catalogue material (without an anniversary or sequel/reboot cash-in in the offing) and for MGM to give a rat's ass about physical UHD media in general.

I can't and won't blame Lionsgate for getting behind the format (how awful of them) and for wanting to release the bigger selling hits in their catalogue, of which VW is one. Give it just a little more time and their worthier catalogue will surely grow. They've got stuff like Running Man and Universal Soldier on their books along with the Rambos, all this random catalogue gear may yet be paving the way for some true goodness so I'm in for VW.

The BD on this is so bad. It is DNR to death, hoping they go back to the film on this one and do it right.

Tara Reid is a stick in the mud, but I want to get this for the scene with the dog and the eclairs. That scene and its follow-up were totally abhorrent.

I expect this will have to be a new master, as the Blu-ray is so old it must be from the same master as the DVD, which would make it unacceptable on UHD BD. Therefore, the only question is if it will be the rated or unrated version (or both).
