Well I've never read any of the books and I liked all of the movies. I don't think I'd even call myself a fan. I just watched each movie as they were released and thought they were all pretty good. It's sort of like a soap opera in terms of how relationship focused the plots are, and how each movies picks up where the last left off. On the other hand, there are no real cliffhangers (other than in part 1 of the two part finale). It's also much better than any soap opera I've seen.

I imagine we'll get the sequels sometime in the next few months. At the very least we'll get New Moon for it's 10th anniversary next year.

It really seems like Lionsgate is trying to make the 10th anniversary celebration mostly about the first film (its the only one getting a 4K UHD release this year and the only one coming back to cinemas) so we'll probably get the sequels at a later date.

They'll come to UHD eventually, but I imagine it won't be until sometime next year.

Watched this earlier and it looks fine. A nice upgrade over the BD. HDR helps out that blue/grey overcast look that the film has. It's not perfect mind, but it was good enough. Lots of grain on display here so there's been very minimal DNR. Only major issue that stuck out was scenes set in Phoenix look grey and overcast at times (but not to the extent of Forks), which doesn't feel right. I could be misremembering, but I'm sure those scenes looked a lot warmer on previous editions so I might need to fish out the old BD and have a look (since the included BD here is region locked). Scenes where Edward's skin shines in the sunlight also look better than the BD from memory, HDR helping out there. But I thought it looked good and I think they did the best they could with the rather deliberately desaturated and teal look this film has. The sequels will likely offer more HDR eye-candy when they eventually hit the format (I'm getting excited already thinking of the Volterra sequence in New Moon with that bright sunshine and all those red cloaks).

I rented New Moon in 4K DV on itunes and I don't know what's going on...all of the blacks look super crushed and all of the color has been sucked out of it. A-B'ing with the Blu-ray and wondering what the heck is going on. Maybe my TV and iTunes DV don't play nice.

Thanks, Pieter. Maybe a microscopic increase in detail in some spots (like Charlie's beer can), but pretty much just comes down to a slight change in the color grading (and I think I like the color of the BD better!). Watching the disc in motion I was so distracted because everyone's faces look like they were filled with moving noise. If they do release New Moon - BD Pt2, I'll hold off for caps before buying any more of these.

Well wanted to buy Twilight 4k but since there is not mention of the sequels being released in 4k I’ll just be happy with my many editions of the blu rays.

FYI, the digital codes in the Twilight box set redeem on Apple TV in 4k / Dolby Vision / Dolby Atmos for the theatrical versions and include HD extended versions and extras.

Well I watch and rented all 5 films on vudu with 4k Dolby vision. All of them looked great except eclipse. Eclipse look a bit blurry to me like DNR has been applied to it or something like that. The film looks more dark and gloomy than the other 4. Being shot on flim has help the transfers to look great despite all of them having a 2K DI. I'm not sure why they haven't release the sequels on 4k Blu-ray. My only guess is that Lionsgate thinks they won't sell well.

Well, that's a real shame then because based on the pics from the first one i would be willing to import it tbh.

According to the official review and movie length the answer is no. In the ideal world all 5 Twilight movies should be released on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format with the extended editions for each movie. Each movie could be placed on a dedicated 100GB triple layer disc so that there would be plenty of space to hold all the extra features. Then a complete 4K Blu-ray boxset that holds all 5 extended cuts of the movies on one complete boxset. Maybe make the boxset a steelbox edition if there was enough demand.
