In this case the new ED2 documentary is on the Lionsgate 4K disc so they don't have to press a new Blu-ray, it looks like it's the existing U.S. 25th anniversary disc, whereas StudioCanal (who are releasing this in Europe) have been issuing their new remasters on Blu-ray as well as UHD, using a 2-disc BD (movie + extras) and bare bones UHD approach. Make sense?

This? Have you seen it already? StudioCanal will be handling the remaster for ED2 anyways, as we know. So this won't be a "true" Lionsgate joint either.
Yes. Thanks for the info. I haven't fully dove into the the whole 4K thing and the technical knowledge of it. Even though I own like 80 4Ks at this point... lol I just don't have the equipment to play them yet.

Beyond that, it's impossible to tell. I don't trust Caps-a-holic 4K caps of HDR material whatsoever, as it's not indicative of the actual range and colours.

Interesting comparison. Looks like the 25th anniversary might've been misframed and the colours look off. The UHD also has similar framing to the older blu-ray from Anchor Bay. The first screenshot looks SO much better on the UHD. That teal-coloured sky is horrendous.

Hmm some shots I feel are a big improvement. However there are a handful where I like the previous. I'll wait until this one arrives before I say much more.

A solid upgrade, a few compression issues aside.

The black crush on the anniversary BD is horrendous.

4K of ED1 isn't a critical upgrade. The upgrade in colors is noticeable, but if it never got a 4K it wouldn't have been much of a loss. Very mild upgrade.

This? Looking at Caps a Holic, it is quite a large difference in PQ.

What's with the teal wash, though?

Oh yeah, everything is actually teal and it was the inferiority of old home video tech's fault.
