Praying for balanced gamma and contrast (UHDs of Dracula, Blade Runner, Leon, Cloverfield). Not "inky" trash like UHDs of Van Helsing, Azkaban and some other.

What do you mean "inky trash"? If blacks are inky then thats usually good. If they are crushed then thats different. Just curious what you meant here.

The sequels (if they even release on UHD and Warner doesn't rescan the film) will have crushed shadows given they're some of the first DIs and likely look very "Prisoner of Azkaban."

I have the Ultimate Matrix on BD, but I'll gladly sell this and pick up the first film and try to forget the sequels even exist.

New 4K masters for all three films, AVC for all three BDs, both color timings on the original film (preferably on both formats), and all of the extras on the Ultimate set. Make it happen Warner.

Really excited for this, and I’m fine with just picking up the first movie (though I’m sure the rest will come too). Now we just need Speed and Bill & Teds and we’ll have the Best of Keanu on UHD.

I think your chances are nope, nope, nope and lastly....nope.

First movie will have a legit 4K transfer while the other two were finished on 2K, the timing for the first movie will be for one version only (but all bets are off as to how it'll look once it's had an HDR pass, which could be good or bad), the BDs will be the same VC-1 jobbies and there will be no extras discs. IMO.

I'm still buying it day one.

That's not cool then. I'll buy it too, but looks we will all be keeping the Ultimate Collection.

Good news? Sure - but I need the whole set before I'll buy(or re-buy actually) Matrix movies in UHD. Its a step in the right direction but it should be handled like the Batman Nolan films. Just give us the whole damn set.

If they release a trilogy and use a jumbo case it'll fit perfectly in the Ultimate box with the "Matrix Experience" two-disc extras slim case, just FYI.

Have you seen Azkaban for yourself or are you going bananas off of caps again? I aks because while Azkaban does indeed pull the blacks down in the 'full frame' kinda shots that fade to black - which now actually fade to black and not grey - it reveals MORE shadow detail in the brighter scenes, which have the blacks clipped away to shit on the Blu-ray. It's like they've raised the gamma in the darker shots but lowered it on the brighter shots.
