For sure, and I think most Rambo fans remember Stallone talking about going south of the border and taking on the cartel a long time ago. I wasn't the least bit surprised when they said this movie would follow that storyline, and it made more sense now that he had gone home to the ranch at the end of Rambo (4).

As far as the movie itself, I thought it was ok (I'm a huge Rambo fan). I thought it was great set up (until the part where he's racing to get back home - trying to stay spoiler free), but was a little underwhelmed by the "finale". Its like they ran out of money or something...

I have an idea for the next Rambo, if there is one. In short, he should come "full circle" and go back to the military as an advisor (kind of become the Colonel Trautman role) now that he's got nobody else. Good drama as the young special forces guys are like "what does the old man know?". Meanwhile, the lady in Mexico from this past movie publishes her article on the slave girls in Mexico, which causes the US to covertly send in our special forces to go get some of our missing girls back. You see, the guys Rambo just beat were only one faction of the larger cartel. There movie could open with the head honcho of the cartel finding out that Rambo just took out the leadership of his human trafficking operation (AKA events of Rambo: Last Blood). Movie opens with another attack on the ranch, and Rambo loses. The last battle is Rambo and what's left of a team of special forces going all guerrilla in the mountains (of Mexico or ARZ harkening back to First Blood.

It's called "Last Blood" and you see scenes of Rambo from the early days to the current time, plus, again, it's called "Last Blood". lol

I personally didn't watch "Rambo: Last Blood" in U.S., U.K. or Canada but in Portugal so I think I've seen the uncut version on the big screen. I enjoyed it thoroughly and getting two free posters was even better.

I know its called "Last Blood", but I'm pretty sure Stalline recently said that he'd make more if it was successful and fans wanted it.

We shall see.

Yep that's what he said but going off the box office don't think it will happen.

I want this to be the last one. I liked it but it was the weakest or at least on par with Rambo III. Not bad but not great. While not the perfect ending to the character I was satisified with it and it didn't hurt the Rambo franchise.

With the title being Last Blood, it's a perfect bookmark if just in name alone. If he does reprise Rambo, I'd want it be like Creed where it's the character in another movie.

This is clearly outlined the "It's a Long Road" featurette on the original Blu-ray. Now, here's the kicker... 2008's Rambo was actually shot in early 2007 after it swapped production slots with Rocky Balboa (Sly was originally going to shoot Rambo BEFORE Rocky Balboa, which was shot in late 2005). That means that the "daughter" kidnapped at the Mexican border storyline that Rambo: Last Blood follows was in Sly's head in early 2005 AT THE LATEST. So for anyone to insinuate that Last Blood was a knee jerk conservative Trump-era message movie is woefully misguided. Additionally, when Sly told me that original idea in 2008, the first thing that came to mind wasn't Taken (the first of which wasn't even released yet), but Man on Fire. So if you attack Last Blood for its overarching storyline, you have to attack MOF just as intensely.

Now... before anyone asks... No... I can't really talk about it or if you'll see it in the US. Just know that if you saw the movie in North America, you saw the version that tested highest with audiences. Make of that what you choose.
I believe that plot was one of many synopses in his 2001 treatment Rambo IV: Holy War. I think it was also written as a script titled Eye of the Serpent, it was the draft prior to Pearl of the Cobra, which had the plot that eventually became Rambo.

Yes, I saw an interview where he said he may reprise the role again. I saw another where he said there has been 2 Rambo films in 31 years, so probably not. He didn't mention that there has been 3 in 32 years He said the reason why he made this one was because "something happened." I assume he means the political situation on the border. I'm sure another hot button issue will come along. Just as long as he doesn't do the Hunter Predator-esque plot. That'd probably be awesome but weird.
