Got the Scream edition of Halloween in today at Best Buy. The stores are also supposed to get 2 in also, but wasn't in the box. Looked at the copy and it is strangely about 1/4 to a half inch longer than a regular blu with a slipcover. Seemed a little odd and shelf cringing when I stacked them up against others blus with slips. I assume the J card in it is a little thicker than normal?? Not quite dvd height, but you will notice it when you get it. What I will say is that the cartoonish artwork actually is a lot darker than what was posted, at least for the first film, and did not look bad at all. Just be prepared for a slightly larger presentation on your shelf.

What about replacing Halloween 1-5 from that set with the new 4ks?

You mentioned it having a J-Card… did you notice if that is part of the top front 4K / Blu-Ray Banner?

Yes. It's a typical j-card with banner on top of the front going down the back. I should have taken a pic, but will get one for tomorrow if I remember.

Hmmmm so do you think that awful looking grey banner stating its a 4K / Blu-Ray is only on the J-Card and possibly not printed on the actual front cover art.

Although probably no way of confirming unless it’s unwrapped. Or if you can see a little under the edge of that J-Card

Man, even just from a few early screen grabs, this looks like a gentle but healthy and much-welcomed nudge of the color palette in the right direction. Along with what looks like the typical, expected uptick in detail and better contrast, highlights and depth of field, an audio upgrade of any sort would truly be icing on the cake at this point. Really getting psyched for this release now.

Even in the LD mono you can’t hear the “it.” Sadly, it was lost the moment it tried to escape JLC’s mouth.

Should I buy these 5 4K releases on Halloween 1-5 and wait for SF to do the same thing for the rest of the movies a year from now maybe.

Or should I invest in the Halloween: The Complete Collection (Blu-ray Disc, 2014, 15-Disc Set, Limited Deluxe Edition) (I know it's OOP but there are buying options on ebay etc.)

Thanks in advance!
Cheapest route would be to get the new 4K releases of 1-5, and then the Italian 1-8 box set. It has the bonus features for Curse, H20 and Resurrection that were on their complete collection box set, as well as the producer's cut.

The two Rob Zombie films are currently OOP, but the first one is still pretty easy to find. The second one seems to be creeping up in price, but I'd keep an eye on eBay for used copies.

Nope, we were told about it shortly after the set's initial announcement courtesy of Cliff in the Friday the 13th thread: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...0#post17853820

YAY!!! The colors are back! Now we can all put the 2013 UHD into the garbage, where it belonged from day one.

The UHD was 2018...

That said, I still prefer the 2013 colour timing over the 2003 (that was utilized for the 2007 release). It wasn't saturated well, but the 2003 transfer didn't look natural in the slightest.

35mm prints of Halloween were very saturated, colorful, and vibrant. Shout! is still subdued a bit, but it’s so much better than the previous UHD. 2013 Blu and 2018 UHD look like GARBAGE. Ordered
