@jcs913 — is the inside back cover the same as the slipbox’s back cover in your picture? I think it’s funny that it says “The one. The only. The classic” even as they’re trying to sell the next 4 sequels on UHD/BD. Ooof. I mean, I agree with them in the sense that the original is the only one I ever watch or care about. So to me it really is, “The One. The only.”

The inner 4K case is standard size. It slides inside the case thru the side and that slipbox is a smidge taller than a standard style case.

I’d bet the height is the same to some of their other editions like Creepshow and prob about the same height as the bigger Limited Halloween Blu box set.

No I compared the 2018 4K's mono to the LD mono. I wanted to get a good idea of the difference. When I get the 2021 4K I'll be comparing the mono to the LD mono as well.

The 2018 UHD does not have the so-called "filtered mono," or any real mono track at all, for that matter. It is a downmix of the 5.1 remix.

The 2018 mono is a different mix than the LD mono. The 2018 mono is the 7.1 folded down, whereas the LD mono is the original mix. What we all want to know is how the new mono mix on the 4K disc/BD compares to both the 2014 boxset mono (filtered) and the LD mono (unfiltered).

Just put in my copy and getting a flickering/strobe effect with Dolby vision on my ub820. Compared the driving in the rain scene and 4k sounds like filtered audio to me

What was the source for your comparison? The LD or something else?

Going off this YouTube video posted earlier

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I’m fairly certain this still contains the filtered mono track.

Doing a comparison with the 2014 disc from the 15 disc box set, there are no drastic differences that I can hear. I’m using pretty decent mirage speakers, and can clearly hear a difference between the 2014 and Criterion LD on the youtube comparison - and that is very apparent, even on my iphone.

Compared the second scene from that YouTube comparison (Laurie being chased) and the 4k definitely is missing the bass in the music that the laserdisc has. Personally I can live with the audio but not thrilled about yet another DV issue with the Panasonic 820

Edit: my 820 is running the 1.66 version Chinese sourced firmware in case anyone wants to know
